I agree PALEMOON. I use D3 every once in a while but the only thing I can do with him is chaingrab. :/ He is a very good character though.

Brawl ruined some of the characters like Sheik and badassified some like Kirby.

I still think Kirby is overrated

Lucas #1 hands down
Toon Link
Marth
Pikachu sometimes
Ness not as much anymore similar to Lucas
Ivysaur occasionaly

im basically the S*** with Lucas. undefeated. yea. thats me.

So who here fights with skill and strategy instead of using cheats and glitches and stuff?

and so it goes, and so it goes, and so will you soon i suppose.

Uh... i don't think anyone here plays with cheats. That's just plain stupid.

And what do you mean with "skill and strategy"? Like, instead of just trying to smash directly the others, playing it using the shields and evasions? Explain it to me.

BTW I use Kirby and he is overrated because of how easy it is to learn to play with it. At least to win some rounds, it's easy to win with him. It's just a matter of lots of practice to catch the grasp with it.

Now, I'm trying to learn to use another characters and I found the Capt. Falcon a good challenge (a good challenge in the way I think it's difficult to master).

i tried sheik a bunch a while ago and while i agree she's a shadow of her Melee self, she's still pretty good. Just a little different playstyle. Gone are the days of killing people in .03247 seconds with a combo.

EDIT: Also, @ spuzalot

yeah, man. DDD is way cool. my friends all laugh when i charge that hammer up. Oh, they laugh now, but one day i will hit one of them with it and get my vengeance!

I don't think people can claim pokemon trainer if they only use one pokemon.

My top three characters are Link, Lucario and Luigi. Funny that.

I am also competent with Pokemon Trainer (all three of them), Wolf and Captain Falco.
My brother is also really good with Ike, Pikachu and Snake.

when i say "skill and strategy" yea im referring to shields and dodges and good manuevering and knowing how to use items. pretty much little not-quite cheats to get through for example:
Whenever i find a canister i dash towards it and throw it at someone. its fun and relatively effective, plus i might get an item out of it. simple things like that maybe throwing canisters down while you're above an enemy.

when i say "kirby is overrated" i pretty much mean in my opinion you guys are giving him more credit than he deserves.

He's pretty good, although I don't like the Final Smash very much.

Some of his attacks are surprisingly fast and powerful.

Yoshi (the megapimp) metanight (the pimp) and ganon with white hair (the old pimp). My faves! I can tech off walls but that's it. My skills with the R button are unparralelled however! And I am a master of throwing batting objects instead of using them for melee. Throwing a bat is like have Chuck Norris beat them up.

Whoa I need to update the list really bad. I was away from the forums for a little bit.

Also Palemoon. You should learn to chaingrab with DDD and piss everybody off. Just grab somebody do a down throw then dash really fast and grab them again. If you do it right they cant escape and you can get in like 5 grabs accross a stage like final destination.

By the way everybody I usually play with items off. They are way to unpredictable and cheap *cough* smashball *cough* bumper. And characters like Sonic (cheap final smash) and Fox (reflector) get a huge upperhand.

I only disable the more annoying items, especially those which can give someone a huge (dis)advantage by falling on their head at an (in)opportune moment. I don't think Smash Balls are all that cheap, mostly because they take a bit of whacking to collect - you at least get the chance to try and knock everyone else away before they grab it, unlike heart containers that drop right next to someone.

Anyway, my personal favourite is Wolf. I'm also fond of Lucas and the larger weapon users (Link, Marth, Ike, Dedede). I'm absolutely terrible with Mario, despite Dr Mario being one of my favourites in Melee. In other changes from Melee, I find that Kirby and Zelda are considerably better, and Ganondorf, Sheik and Jiggly are considerably worse.

Me and my college mates are so pretentious in our gameplay. We only play 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2, never free-for-all. There are no items, not even smash balls, and our level choices are either Final Destination, Battlefield, Bridge Of Eldin, Smashtown (or whatever the animal crossing area is), and Corneria.

I could also go on and on about how the character preferences for most of the people in this thread are quite humorous, but ill just state that I switch between Luigi, Falco, Wolf, and Lucario... and thats it.
I feel the top of the roof come off, kill everybody there as I'm watching all the stars burn out, trying to pretend that I care.

But I didn't, no-one ever does, and I would, no-one ever will

Can't you see it's all flown out of my hands and our clothes are all too often ripped and our teeth are all too often gnashed and it lasts as long as it possibly can but I just don't accept this.

I just don't accept this at all.

Faces sweaty, arms and legs, what a glorious set of stairs we make.

We kill everyone with arrowheads, arrowheads, arrowheads. Thank god that's over.
