Ok, seeing as how its about 5 A.M. and I really don't want to type anything about this awesome game. I'll just take something from Wikipedia. Armada Online is a sci-fi shooter video game, with elements similar to an Asteroids RPG. It features a PvP scenario where up to 8 players per team (two teams - factions) engage in combat with each other, team based allies, and the Armada aliens. Players collect funds to buy power-ups for ships, increasing speed, power, health, and adding a variety of powerful abilities, allowing them to defeat the Armada, set up space colonies and eventually defeat the other team's base. In the Delta 3 sector, players act freelance or in groups of up to 16 people against the Armada. The Delta includes rich zones of asteroids and crystals for players to extract materials needed for crafting better technology.
The game incorporates all six races and their unique ships from the original Armada. Each race's specialized systems and performances allow for various styles of play with equal effectiveness.
Also, the game is free to play, and doesn't even have cash items.. isn't it grand?

Also, here are some screenshots.

I'm not really into sci-fi games, but seeing as this is free to play, I'll give it a try.

I was just playing this yesterday and it's definitely interesting.
I felt it important to note that these are the races on the following 2 opposing teams.

Federationesque - Terran, Vorgan, Drakkan
Empiresque - Nomad, Eldred, Scarab

Also, they've got a nice little wiki, Hooray!

Hmm... I'm having a problem when I download it. It says I'm missing d3d9.dll. I downloaded it, and I get some message about how "Procedure entry point Dbentry10 could not be located in te dynamic link library DDRAW.dll.".

Anyone know what that means?

I haven't quite figured out your second error but as for your first error you can easily google a dll file download site and search for it there. Then just put that file in your Armada folder.

Yeah, I guess I worded that wrong. Well, I had done that, moved it into my armada folder, and when I try and load the game up, I get the message listed above.

Bah, I've figured it out. Apparently, DirectX is screwed up, so I won't be playing this anytime soon.

Reinstall it? If you have a newer commercial game it should have the latest version on the disc. Or you could get it from somewhere else online.
