I know almost nothing about images. 1) What do you mean by stretched image? 2) What's wrong with JPEG? 3) I have no idea why it's a JPEG, as I saved it as a PNG.

It's a PNG. Tinypic just automatically renames all their images to .jpg

So, if you see an animated JPG from tinypic, remember its just a GIF

The background you're using has a lower resolution than your screen. Try higher-quality backgrounds.

Jpeg is mainly intended for photos. It has a lower file size than png, however this results in a reduction of quality. Eg:

Image uploaders can be stupid sometimes. I find that imgur and tinypic tend to f*ck up the least. Either way, you're not to blame in this case.
