I know that it is 50 pixels taller than you stated, and 50 pixels wider, but I think that it looks good like this. I think that, with this design style, it would've been too small at 300x100. You could size it down if you wanted, though.

I just made an image using the same idea as nnn's sig. It's kinda big (1280 x 1024), so that why it's in a spoiler. It reminds me of a galaxy or some kind of space abnormality. some are cool, that galaxy wallpaper just seems like a few brushes.
For the sigs (you kinda stopped this, but just for future notice); scanlines are cool, but not all on everything. (plus, they're going out of style)
