Forum Dungeons and Dragons game

On some other sights they have s system that enables them to play D&D on forums, it takes forever but it does give you something to do, the format is:
I post summary of last round
Initiative order
Enemys actions
Stats of everything on board.

Then the players post based on the initiave order.
If anyone is interested please post or pm me, and make a character. If I can get 3 or more people interested I will start the game using the above format.

A few notes:
The game will be in 4th edition
If you have a scanner please make a character and scan the sheets (otherwise just manualy type in everything for me).
A general knowledge of the rules is expected.

I'm extremely skilled at forum-based RPGs, so I'll be glad to help with this.

Everyone should either download the Excel Sheet or the D&D character builder beta. Forum RPGs do tend to run more slowly, but it's well-worth it. I can show you guys some examples from SimRTK or HoI or HoC (Which I'm developing for now) to get you guys in the mood.

D&D miniatures combat is impossible to run on a forum. The game isn't turn-based, it's round-based. It requires activity and attention that the forums just cannot generate.

That would by why play-by-post games typically tend towards the highly dramatic, with very little combat. Many of them use heavily modified combat rules to streamline things, since the usual combat is unfeasible.

Quick thinking is clearly more integral to the game than physical proximity.

The conflicts that do occur during dramatic activity will be nigh impossible to run on the forums, using D&D. A different system would be better suited for that sort of play.

I'd consider it, although I have thirty-some projects going at the moment, so I'd rather just play.
