I play guitar instead of playing one of my least favorite games: Guitar Hero.

I could think of many things but let's start with being more consistent.

Why the need to judge? If I end up needing to judge, I gather more information instead of simply making a statement.

Guitar Hero gives maybe a slight idea of what the actual instrument consists of. The key to playing guitar is memorizing muscle movement patterns and the spacing of frets with the ability to link notes together and form your own patterns and styles while playing, not memorizing patterns that are the same each time you play the song; thus there is no improvisation, which means that there is no linking of notes. Further customization comes with choosing a guitar, modding it, choosing an amp, setting the amp to a unique tone each time you play a song, and more. This begs the question: why memorize a fretboard, amp controls, etc when we can hear what we want to play using five buttons? In my opinion, the novelty wears off all to quickly, leaving no depth to the game.
btw the whammy bar on those toy guitars makes no sense :)
