Play N+ for DS... that's easier. Too easy. Easy makes it not challenging, thus terrible.
Seeing as the new trend is to just should out ideas even if they've already been said, I would like to say NUMA INTEGRATION AND CUSTOM COLUMNS/EPISODES PLEASE.

definitely. I think you should be able to customize your own columns, or at least be able to take a mappack that's arranged in episode format, and convert it into standard column view. (and play)

I don't know what any of you mean by "customize your own columns and episodes."

You can already do that with the damn userlevel data. Just add your 00-0 to 99-4 in front of it and be good. If you mean a visual representation of your columns/episodes in the userlevels section of the game then I can understand that. If you mean adding an entire database for custom columns and episodes much like the N+ or Knytt Stories custom levels database then I guess that's up to Mare and Raigan.

What they mean is the ability to play their episodes as they'd play an in-game episode - five levels at a time. Also, the ability to arrange those episodes into columns, but you touched on that with the "visual representation" bit. And I'd kill to have that. What if, just like you can swap out the original Userlevels for your own batch, you could swap out the original /columns/ once you were done with them? Maybe that'd be a good prize for beating the game? I understand the programming behind it is a little more complicated than parsing the Userlevels data, but if M&R could implement an interface to facilitate a "custom game," that'd be ill. That way, you wouldn't have to be Unreality to make your own columns. You'd just have to achieve transcendence first.

I'd much rather see something like the listing in Knytt Stories for custom levels, but instead of going straight to the first level (because Knytt levels are HUGE and UNWIELDY) it would load the columns and episodes based on the 00-0 to 99-4 that would have to be placed in front of each map name. Switching out in-game levels seems really dumb to me for some reason. Along the same lines as adding weapons. I don't know of any game where you can switch out the in-game maps for a custom-made map. You either play the game or you play the custom level(s).

I guess Pheidis point is that in "custom columns", as they exist today, your loss of time doesn't effect the playing time in the next level.

EDIT: post 100# :)

what about adding some language translations for some of the bigger languages. Spanish, French and German for example.

excellent suggestion. I guess this would heavily increase N's popularity, especially in terms of non-English-speaking kids etc.

I understand your point. So why not a blank column after the levels of the game with an equivalent to userlevels.txt for folk to copy-paste in episodes from NUMA? It really only needs to exist for the five map timer.

That's a frill, though. Aside from possibly the help section, reading English isn't necessary anywhere. (Except Ned, but we're talking casual players, right?)

Which is what makes translation that much easier to accomplish. Main menu, story, help and other ned stuff. At first launch a language option could be displayed with respective flags and corresponding language names in their native language. e.g. español for spanish. Plus an option to change the language from a sub-menu at a later time. Admittedly, these are relatively simple additions, but if it attracts a wider audience, why not? We also have members here who are bilingual who I'm sure would like to translate text for N 1.5
