A topic where we could discuss each blog post would get you guys more feedback, as some are wary of blog commenting in general.

Put it this way: you want to hear from us and we want to talk to you. I for one never read the blog (sorry) and I don't think too many of the other people here do either, so the most direct way to contact us is just that, become a (way more) active part of our community. It's one of the best on the 'net. Also,
If you do nothing else.987654321 wrote:Cross-posting FTW

That's actually a good idea. It does seem to make the connection between devs and community "stronger", or something, so yeah, cross-posting is best.ghoulash wrote:How about a pinned topic which updates every time y'all blog?
I have a small feeling that making individual topics might be better, because, for me, it gives a sense that you people are normal users who have something to share. I dunno, just an idea.
Also, I generally don't read the blog either, and, as Lifey said, not many people do. I dislike commenting on blogs as well, and will usually only do so if I had something really worthwhile to discuss. On the other hand, having a post that points to the blog may or may not be the best thing to do, since i t acts as a sort of... Deterrent to people who post in topics with "Good job!" and ":D!" and "Hope to hear more! :D!" and other such things.

How about a subforum dedicated to the Blog, this will import the posts as they are posted and create new topics from those posts. This is working currently on numerous other boards to great success, but they use IPB. I'm sure there's a plugin available for phpBB too but...

Ya'll have got to understand that this is where we hang. The blog doesn't have the connectivity that this does.
For the same reason you see some restaurants always packed and some always empty, this is where we all hang out. Why? Because we all hang out here. Cross-post for sure. Plus, even the small gesture of posting here once in every couple whiles will strengthen the community again.
Hell, this latest stunt has me checking the forums and posting every damn day again.

Oh, I dunno. There are a quite a few people who do read the blog and new posts are usually stuck in the IRC topic where they do get a good deal of exposure. More on topic though, Slappy's idea.

*Read* the blog, yes. *Hang out* in the blog, no. This is interaction incarnate. The reason the early community was so amazing was manyfold, but in part due to Mare and Raigan's direct contributions and communication.Spawn of Yanni wrote:Oh, I dunno. Mm, that was just an aside, not a suggestion that things stay how they were.Kablizzy wrote:*Read* the blog, yes. *Hang out* in the blog, no. This is interaction incarnate.
