I can never really explain to friends how I walljump so much higher than they do. Obviously part of it is lots of new players slide on the wall for a bit, but there's something else to. Is it the frequency of your jumps? or how high you go on each one? can someone explain please.

What a lot of my friends do is jump and hold the jump button when they're really far away from the wall, and kind of slide a second before jumping again, and when you do that, when you reach the wall, you're at the peak of your jump, which means that there's no upward momentum. I think the trick is to start close to the wall, hold the button down, and immediately press and hold when the ninja comes close to the wall.
As to wall jumping from no momentum with no floor, I think it just matters that there's no sliding and the momentum gets kept. If one starts sliding, then one has to restart the process.
But yeah, from what I've noticed, new players slide a lot on corners and stuff, and don't know how to get a lot of momentum.

i agree with ENT474. alot of my friends do that too, they jump on the wall and slow down because they slide a bit and the only jumplike 1 block of hight each jump. i just run until i get as close to the wall as i can with outrunning ito it and stopping, then jump, and jump again as soon as i make contact with the wall. i guess most of it is to do with reflexes.

I'm pretty sure the timing of the jump and which keys you're pressing both affect the height of your jump. The quicker two jumps occur in succession, the higher you go, and if you hold the arrow key pointing away from the wall when you make the jump, you'll push off a little better too. I think.
