We are on topic. We're laughing at you for reminiscing on last week as though it were long forgotten.

Gloomps edit on Tunco's post was hilarious. Or his edit-comment...
I joined NUMA circa 2008, November 13. I made two crappy race maps then went on to action. They didn't suck much, but they never got anyones attention. I made about 3 races afterwards, which got some attention from well known peeps. After a bit of action, I busted out about 2 concepts which never caught on. About then I made about 3 Nreality maps, then a stage of fame hit. After about 20 Nreality maps, most of which were tests, my fame depleted. I went into haitus afterwards. I returned with some awesome maps that no one saw. I got pissed at Radium for the Stacey incident and left for about a month. I came back with the Nreality and mad three Nreality more maps. Enter the present.
Edit: Fixed the name.

"AHEM" getting back to, you know, the topic, I started out with this like tree map that a lot of people started to like and rate. On that map nDEAVOUR and Bio Cryo went on my cool list and nDEAVOUR made my avatar which I still use. Everywhere from then to now I've eathier been called really nice and good for a new person or flamed because of accusations of a multi-accounter. People went from bad to good, I like to think I got much better, and so here I am :p. Still haven't been around long though. Not even two months...

I made a few crappy maps, delisted most of them, made pretty good - awesome maps, and HOLY S*** this is insane maps.
the most ratings I've ever recieved is 14. I have 300 maps, and 50 of them have never been commented or rated. =/
(most people don't know me.)

I would suspect so, seeing as you can't get much attention for something no one thinks you are.natures_peril wrote:i got more atention as a noob then as a "pro"

I started out by reading that N instructables guide and looking and learning from the featured maps on NUMA. I then made two maps which I never bothered submitting, and finally subbed my first map on Nov. 10, 2008. I can proudly say that I never made a spammy map :D. I got pretty lucky with constructive criticism: max_ride and handofgod commented on my first map, shortshift commented on my second, and ChaoStar commented on my third. I made a few more maps with gradual improvement; I got my first pubic 4 on my 9th map, and my first public 5 on my 12th. I kinda remained at the same quality though for quite a while, until GTM started giving me advice about 10-15 maps later. Then, atob put up his guide to mapping, and I followed that; my maps immediately became loads better. From map numbers 40-65 or so, I kinda stayed around the same quality, and I got a bit frustrated and bored. I left for about 3 weeks due to lack of interest, and then came back and saw that I had 10 maps with unread comments XD. Seeing that people still played my maps, I made and submitted a couple fairly poor maps (I was rusty), and then got back to where I was. Then, apse and I started exchanging RCE's regularly, and I got better from his advice. Ever since map number 80 or so, I've tried not to take advice from any one person; I like to get a bunch of different perspectives, and mix them all around. Right now, I'd say I learn the most from lord_day and PALEMOON.
