So.

NUMA is down. We don't know how long it will be, if at all, until it returns. Radio silence from Arachnid has us hoping for the best while expecting the worst.

But what will this mean for the art of mapping? Does that mean that all the mappers should just pause their craft? To give up on their passions, their creative outlets, the fountain of ideas that is the canvas of NED, only begging to be painted upon?

Short answer: no. Long answer: fuck no.

This thread shall be our very own NUMA. Post your own maps, comment and/or rate the maps of other players, share demos... this is a thread for all of that, and much more!

I'll start with a map that I made during NUMA downtime. After that, comment/rate/post/demo away! NUMA may be dead, but its spirit shall live on in this thread, and I am confident that you all shall help me working towards this goal.

I made 24 maps. Some of them are good, some of them are bad. lifdoff, your maps is too hard for me. It's pretty generic too. :/

EDIT: Here are agds for all of them but Klazix, cuz that one's annoying.

Dagga, those mine-jumpers are both super sexy! I really like the aesthetics, especially on the second one - the gold placement is ace.

Have an AGD for the first one. Slow-ish.

Aids, I downloaded your pack. Will play over the coming days and report back. Though :( that you think my map is generic, but oh well. Maybe this one is better. :D

AGD for What Rorschach Tests Don't Tell.
Cool map, took a bit of getting used to. There's the possibility do do some pretty cool stuff that I definitely didn't do in this demo. In one of my attempts I jumped around on the rightmost thwumps in a manner that could allow never having to go down to the bottom of the map for the second time. Enjoyed this a lot.

Cool map! I like how you did a lot with only a few ranged enemies - especially the rocket is really well placed.

You are aware of the fact that you don't need to actually get the ring of inner switches, yeah? That's an easy fix, but I assume it was intentional - which is cool! Makes speedrunning it more fun, and you still have to explore the other areas for highscoring it.

Also looking forward to your mappack, but that should not need to be said. :P

Is that good or bad?

Meanwhile, have a faster speedrun of your second minejumper.

Just managed the catch the website online momentarily. I took the window of opportunity to parse NUMA of every map I ever submitted to it.

Managed it just in time as well, because when I tried to load the final page of results twice it went down again. Anyway, if anybody is interested, here is the complete Destiny experience.

Good job, destiny. If anyone ever gets the chance to visit NUMA again for a few minutes it would be cool if that person got all the swerve maps submitted so far and posted them here. Like this we could still run the NUMACon despite NUMA being down.

For those who are unaware of how to do this, you need to load the query as usual, and then replace the 'browse?' section in the url with 'userlevels?'

I'm not 100% sure what the swerve tag was but assuming it is simply 'swerve' then you will need to use the below query:

https://numa-notdot-net.appspot.com/use ... &count=100

Of course if the tag isn't swerve then this link won't work, but you get the idea.

That'd be super cool! Imma go back and tag my jumper Swerve now, since NUMAcon seems to be happening even in the absence of NUMA.

AGD to Beneath the Crooked Cross by lifdoff. The map was a bit finicky. Not terrible, but not a fave. The exit key was especially annoying, due to the rocket's placement and the odd drone pattern.

DW40's map is also particularly annoying.

So the guys on IRC and me used NUMA being up to save maps from active authors in 2015 - sidke has anything that's older backed up, hopefully. The ones that I saved are attached - I hope the mappers don't mind. :)

140615, a curious pack I made in 30 minutes
If you're going to play just one, one is two too many. Play ii.
I have not beaten v, pretty sure it's possible.
i doesn't really fit in, it's less cool than the others.

DEMOS!

The Fourth Dimension: Cool layout, and good use of drones.

soot: this jump is really hard. :(

Image

i: Awesome map, but I didn't like going back around to the exit.

ii: I don't feel like bothering with this.

iii: I got some cool rocket dodges in this demo, but it's a lame map.

iv: simple but decent

v: it's soooooo close to being like a door eerie with thwumps, but not easy enough.
