I don't agree with this. There are plenty of authors who haven't been around for longer than that who have maps that are worthy of feature attention.

Anyways, I put this rule in because I'm trying to find /new/ maps that are worthy of a feature. I know of plenty of old maps that are worthy of a feature. Sorry you don't agree with my rules.

There are many Authors who produced feature 'quality' maps, who are worthy of the attention, but left months before your four month limit. Are you saying we need to start another thread for these people if we want to highlight them?
In fact, this will of even greater value as many of the users active today don't know anything about the older generation of mappers (apparent with the comments on Jeffkillian's latest feature).
Go ahead and gimp the effectiveness of your thread if you want, seems a bit silly to me though.
