The Map-Rating Group (MRG), Season 2

Anyone may join this group at any time!

Actually, this group is currently undergoing a trial of a new system. Feel free to join, though! Everyone still gets into groups of 5, but it's a little more freeform now than the system described below.

Why not use the Map-Rating Thread?
True, this thread is similar to the Map-Rating Thread, but here, ratings are done in batches instead of one-at-a-time, and participants have more freedom in what maps they can play/rate.

Group Overview:
 •  Weeks start on Sunday.
 •  Each Sunday, the current group of participants are divided into groups of 5, and everyone plays and rates a map (any map) by everyone else in their group. Everyone then posts (in this thread) the URLs of the maps they rated. Commenting is encouraged but not required.
 •  Anyone that does not make such a post will not be able to participate again until they make that post (i.e. until the person makes good on those rates).
 •  I, Avarin, will send out PMs to the participants: one on Sunday, announcing the new groups for that week, and one on Wed/Thurs, reminding those who haven't posted yet.
 •  Participants can recommend maps of their own for others to play (by PMing Avarin with that information), but the decision of what to play/rate is ultimately up to the player/rater. Please note: Format your recommendations properly or I will verbally abuse you! For individual maps, use the "[numa]" tags, and for links, use the "[url]" tags.
 •  Relatively trustworthy participants can become double-raters, allowing them to be placed in 2 groups each week (meaning they must play/rate 8 maps total each week). Being a double-rater does not ensure placement in 2 groups every week, though; it depends on the # of other participants.
 •  Be respectful.
 •  To sign up, just post in this thread saying you'd like to join, and I'll put you on the roster for the next week.

I assume you want to be in 2 groups per week, isaacx. And PM me your recommended maps.

Also, I just wanted to note the difficult in choosing colors that work with both light themes (Retronet) and dark themes (Hermes). So my apologies if that first post is a bit hard to read.

I'm in again, and like the end of last season, I would also like to be in two groups. :D

Also, the colours look great, on both light and dark skins. :)

Is there a limit to the number of maps one could recommend? In the last thread, I believe that number was 3.

Just so everyone is straight, this kind of thing is not necessary, though it's nice. I'm starting everyone over from scratch.
isaacx wrote:Is there a limit to the number of maps one could recommend? In the last thread, I believe that number was 3.
Yes, people should limit that to 4 just to be reasonable. I did not mention that in the first post because it rarely happens that someone wants to recommend 5 or more maps, so I figured I would just mention it on a case-by-case basis.

Thanks for pinning, gloomp!

This is still run on a week by week basis right? If so, I wouldn't mind trying it out for Week 1.

I'll do it. But it wasn't clear--do we /have/ to recommend maps of our own, or not?
