Post a review!

You dont have to be a reviewer to have an opinion on a map. If theres a particular map you want to praise, just post it here and say your piece, preferably with a NUMA link so we can see what it looks like. Obviously, if you arent a reviewer, this'll be a nice creative outlet, if you are, it will too, but I would advise not putting any reviews you intend to publish soon on here, just yet. Or at least chagne the review. Come on people, originality!

Okay, enough ranting, heres a map I like...

A great race, in my opinion. It takes a simple concept, and speeds it up until all hell breaks loose. Although slightly frustrating at first, once you get into it, it becomes a delight to play through, and the realization that you can finally do this is awesome. As usual, the tileset supports and propogates the mechanics really nicely, whilst still looking awesome. A triumph, imo.

Ughhh.

I'm going to be a reviewer sometime soon anyway (well, I think so, that's what atob said) but I guess some other people can post on here.

TribulatioN, do you mean apply to be a reviewer?

I guess it could be used for that.

Yeah, good ideas guys. Could we establish with the mods that this could be used as a public application thread in addition to a creative outlet for non-reviewers?

It should be fine for applicants to post reviews here and get community feedback and advice but in the end your applications should end up in the NUMA mailbox.

Yeah, thats what Im saying, This way, reviews could be made more public and get feedback before they were released. And you dont have to be a reviewer to post here, as I mentioned before.

He meant as he'd submitted it as a reviewer application, smartarse :)

also, feel free to post reviews wherever you guys want, I think it's a great idea. However, as Maestro stated, all applications of NUMA reviewer positions should still be made via [email protected].

Thanks for the support guys. And wow Pikman, Im reeling in laughter after that ironic hack-and-slash of contexts :) Heres a review that I made for Terrestris Veritas, the current featured map. Compare it against Riobe's if you want.

Terrestris Veritas- PALEMOON

Nmaps.net

This map just has the painstaking gravitas that makes anyone want to play it. From the stunning thumbnail down to the precision of each mine or drone, you can tell right away that this map's going to be special. Ultimately, the gameplay creates a perfect atmosphere with the tiles. All of the objects have been placed almost specifically to highlight the central theme, from the gold making the player hug the surface to the laser drones watching you like gargoyles. The map ends up telling a story with its precise, serene action, one that the reader stays with throughout, captivated.

If i were a reveiwer id proably reveiw this map

-------
4 on 1 - third time's a charm - _destiny^-

Nmaps.net

This Map has pulled of both highscoring and speedrunning preferances, The map isnt too hard, but no doubt is addictive! The Gold Placement is very simple but still poses a challenge to the player, AGD's are tough and the routes are endless posing perfect gameplay. I like a map with freedom, I assume many others do. The 4 rockets surrounding the map really heat up the gameplay in not letting you stop. Like the Title Says this map really is a charm. If you do enjoy a quick map with a challenge then this map really is your "destiny".

Lol not much of a reveiw but i tried ... theres probably a few spelling mistakes aswell

**cough**

Nmaps.net

Isn't there too much gold?
There is never enough gold, baby!!

This Highscoring map gives you the opportunity too by wild with a style...
Maggot Brain by Mechtradevil combines the highflying open spaces and closed combustion mine dodging cavern together to form a authentic action-packed adventure-ish map. Still being able to gather in gold as if it was friday nights movie popcorn while every body isn't looking. Giving you the Excilaration of doing something illegal while feeling thats it the right thing.

Brohm Bramin, by Yahoozy.
Brohm Bramin is an iconic map. Its walls "glow yellow" with gold; its tileset is instantly recognizable to those who have experienced its varied gameplay.

There is an assortment of challenges throughout the map, providing a wonderful variety of gameplay; there is something for everyone in this map. The right side thoroughly satisfies those of us who prefer small, cramped maps. The left side is more open, and provides a more challenging jumper section. The map even manages to include some interesting flow in some sections.

Variety is the name of the game here, and Yahoozy has executed this quite nicely.
Drain Me Up, by Conen__TG_.
Does Drain Me Up look symmetrical? The tileset sure isn't. But as soon as the player transitions from the right side to the left, an uncanny similarity becomes noticeable between sides. The tileset is unsymmetrical, but the gameplay, while not the same on both sides, is just symmetrical enough that the player finds him/herself contemplating the similarities and differences between sides. Don't get me wrong, both sides provide an exhiliarating experience and are obviously well thought out. But the gameplay symmetry adds a flair to the map, that perfects it.
