As for moving from NUMA, which has been the plan for, oh, 5 years, maybe it's coming and maybe it's not. All we have right now is Appspot and the forums.

The point is someone else hasn't acquired the domain, it's still registered to "Nick Johnson". Presumably he hasn't renewed the domain but his provider will still hang on to it as a parked domain for some time.

Agreed. I'm not that familiar with domain hosting or registration but it makes a lot more sense to me that Arachnid hasn't responded vs the alternative that some registration or hosting has permanently lapsed or been taken by someone else. The owner of this domain would surely love for us to pay for it. So what's the problem here?
