I don't think changing it is necessary, I like it. I didn't like it at the beginning, but I got used to it after a week, and the only things that hurt my eyes on NUMA, are really really bad maps. =P

Yea, I don't see why there can't be optional themes for NUMA, like there is for the forums. Not that I don't like the current theme, because I do. It'd just be a neat option.Blackson wrote:I think someone should mock Harmless's skin for the forum as an optional theme. I thought that'd be cool.

With that said, options would be good, and plus, I thought we were supposed to be getting the option to flip skins there anyway.

Agreed. Though I assume that it'd be pretty difficult, otherwise Arachnid would've been more willing to do it from the start. I don't think the skin is going to change anytime soon.epigone wrote:Yea, I don't see why there can't be optional themes for NUMA, like there is for the forums. But, Erik-Player, I understand the phenomenon you're describing. NUMA is fine for me, but some websites (ex: The Metanet Blog) are particularly bad that way. I'm at a loss as to what to suggest though. Perhaps the contrast on your monitor is up too high? Try reading the Metanet Blog and using the Hermes skin on these forums and see if your eyes get irritated.

The fact is, making new styles is a big task to undertake, and Arachnid is probably too busy to be helping every new style maker that comes along. Still, like I said, if you make a style, it can be used whether the admins are involved or not. Just don't expect people to bend over backwards here to do unpaid work for you.

By all means correct me if I'm wrong, but were the templates to be almost the same wouldn't the major problem be just changing images throughout the CSS etc?LittleViking wrote:including CSS

Don't forget changing every color to fit the images.incluye wrote:By all means correct me if I'm wrong, but were the templates to be almost the same wouldn't the major problem be just changing images throughout the CSS etc?LittleViking wrote:including CSS
I'd just live with it. Maybe someone will come along with a cool, fresh theme for the forums that isn't a huge shock to the eyes when switching from the forum to NUMA. Don't expect that to happen anytime soon though.

Does that mean you're volunteering to do it? Thanks!runningninja wrote:I think the skins should be the runner ups to the competition from May (2nd and 3rd place, which, if I recall correctly, were usaswim's and Harmless's other skin), as well as the two old skins (the grey one, and the...blue one?) for those with nostalgia. Of course, the old ones should be modified for featured, Hot Maps, avatars, etc. but I think that that would be something that would satisfy everyone.

Nope. But I'm thinking a coder like Pembie or someone.southpaw wrote:Does that mean you're volunteering to do it?
