When you rate AND comment a map (so the author of the map knows who rated), the author can choose to give you one point (probably by clicking next to your username). Then a maximum of (about) 12 points could be added to your map in the submission process. For each point on the map, it stays on the Hot Maps page for an extra 5 minutes. The Hot Maps page would be extended to 15 or more maps per page and the new slots reserved for maps with points allocated. What I mean by this is that a map with points, when submitted, goes to the normal place (top of Hot Maps), but when the time comes for it to be pushed onto the next page, instead it goes to the "points slots" still on the front, under the tenth Hot Map.
Tell me what you think about this.
Sounds like a good idear.
