Okay, I just started and gave up on my first one. It's important to make sure your color palette isn't crud before you start.

I like crescor's, but replacing the "Other Maps by Author" on the actual map page with a scroll bubble like the dock on a Mac computer... also, reinstating title search, fixing fullsize/thumbnail, change the rates to display an actual number with a decimal so we can tell...

Can't we go for a less sterile style, instead of always the same colours and shapes?

I liked this color palette. Also, there's nothing wrong with creating something that has a few interchangeable color palettes.Techno wrote:Okay, I just started and gave up on my first one. It's important to make sure your color palette isn't crud before you start.

Hopefully Top Maps might be brought back.(Bottom maps, my favorite part of the site.) We're only changing the skin though, so...
Maybe for T3chno we could choose from a preset list of colour palettes. I don't really like the font used, but it's good.
crescor's is a bit confusing (with the image), and looks a bit complicated.
I think firstly this title search should be fixed though, I know you can do it on google but wouldn't it be a better world NUMA for all?

This maybe? I mean there are some functional things that need fixing but a quick change to light blue on black instead of orange would do wonders to freshen up the site.jasdanu wrote:actually what i want to see for new design is that we need to think of new coloring. i hve gotten used to the color too much. other than that surprise us.
http://greenbrown.bandcamp.comPeople write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life

That color palette is awesome. Design is also nice; I like the idea of putting "NUMA" in the center, and putting "maps with unread comments" with profile things. The only thing I don't like is the font >_>Techno wrote:Okay, I just started and gave up on my first one. It's important to make sure your color palette isn't crud before you start.

That is why I decline the title of Iron Cook and accept only the lesser title of Zinc Saucier, which I just made up. Also, it comes with double prize money!

Hmm... something with a dark colour and a lighter colour (with contrast)? Yep.Techno wrote:By all means, help choose and assist a colorblind fellow.29403 wrote:Maybe for T3chno we could choose from a preset list of colour palettes. I don't really like the font used, but it's good.

Agreed. Fix issues it has, not issues it doesn't.Blackson wrote:I do not like this. I'd only be in support if this was an alternative skin. NUMA is a slick site right now.

It is not a case of before or after. arachnid is currently doing what he can, and this is an opportunity for the community to get a bit more involved in the process - and by "community" I don't mean Techno, plus ska being a cockbag. For people so damn insistent on change you are way too resistant to it.

And it would make the forums and the IRC server almost useless.
T3chno's new one is good! Not a fan of the background, but it's got a cool font.

I've worked with shoutboxes in the past, and there's always been this large influx of inevitable spam. There's no way to really moderate a shoutbox as well as, say the IRC. Adding it is indeed pointless. There are better ways to talk to the community.29403 wrote:And it would make the forums and the IRC server almost useless.
