Take refuge in the fact that someone thinks you're worthy of taking down a peg. Don't worry about it too much. Everyone has this happen to them if they become notable enough. If they're really screwing around, you can be sure an admin will catch onto them, so just wait around for atob to show up.

KA, did you check out the image Radium attached? It's a whole row of maps being sniped maliciously. This has nothing to do with personal vendetta's, this is just plain wrong.

The problem is that this sniper just went down the hot pages map, and sniped every map from 5 different accounts. All the maps. He didn't pick and choose. Once my newest map went up. BAM. rated with 5 0s.

Riobe, I don't think anything like that is going to work, because the sniper is probably just doing this for laughs and doesn't care about what he is doing.

But yeah, can't an admin look at the IP's of the people who rated all those maps and ban them? I would hope this could be done before any more damage is caused, and they if they could erase the snipers votes it would be nice too :)

On a side note, I /do/ think this is kinda funny.

It doesn't matter whether this was a personal vendetta or not. Fact is, in the grand scheme of things, sniping is really not the most important of all problems. We who have been through this before get over it and move on. Yes, people will find some way within any system to screw it up for those who treat it responsibly, and we who do just have to live with that. I realise you find this frustrating and some of you want to write long rational statements and accusations about why sniping is 'wrong', but it never solves anything. Best thing to come to is enough self-respect to know that your maps are your maps with or without the rating you believe they deserve. Enjoy making maps and stop spending your possibly creative time worrying about what someone else has done to you.

This doesn't really warrant a new topic; you could have just added it to the other one. This person is just trying to rile you up. The best response is no response, and to just make sure a NUMA admin knows about this. Raising a furor isn't going to help anyone.

Yes, we know. There are already two topics on the subject. Please check before posting a new one. Send an email to the NUMA admin address detailing your concerns, stop posting maps right now if you're really that worried, andcalm down and wait for the situation to be resolved. There's nothing helpful you can do right now other than contact those in charge.

Well, don't feel too bad if a map get sniped (which I can't verify because I can't find you on NUMA). I was sniped several times. Just remember: the one thing you do NOT want to do is say anything about "no sniping". That always gets the map sniped. Almost. But don't count on it not being sniped. Like my old grandninja always told me "Always prepare yourself for the worst. If you don't, then you're asking for a depleted uranium bullet to the head".

Speaking of which, there is a slight change that you WEREN'T being sniped. A sniper is someone who rates a map a one or a zero for no apparent reason. Someone who has a reason isn't a sniper (espada7777777 in his early days was NOT being sniped, parse).

Simple way of telling if a map is sniped: If your map is suspected of being sniped, calmly post that in the description. If you get messages like "No, you just suck", then no. You weren't being sniped. But if you get comments saying "Hey cool map, too bad about the sniping", then you're shouldn't worry too much. If you disregard the latter and do worry, you can just re-submit the map and de-list the old one.
