rocket_thumped wrote:NUMACON is a themed contest we will be holding monthly on NUMA. This month’s contest is called Sky. Basically all you need to do is make a map that has some sky in it, be it the horizon, clouds, or stars. Maps will be judged on theme, game-play, and aesthetics. rocket_thumped, gloomp and blackson will be judging. Prizes are custom titles for the second and first place finishers. The winning map will be featured as well. Third place will get ad free browsing and the top five finishers will get a user bar commemorating their triumphant victory over the masses. Try to do something unconventional and you’ll probably do well.
There's been some confusion because I've forgotten to mention that the prizes are not permanent. They recycle to the new winners each month. While we'd love to give out custom titles to everyone, people with custom titles would soon out number people without them.
1. All entries must have been made between the dates of October 1st 2010 and October 15th 2010.
2. Tag your maps with sky, otherwise your map will not be judged!
good luck

Can we upload maps that we made just for fun for NUMACON? Because I have some maps that I want to upload for Sensei (namely, this one: http://www.nmaps.net/203094).

If you had made the map in september, yes.gmanyo wrote:I have a question regarding NUMACON, and I realize that this may not be the right place to post this. This question may also have already been asked, but I searched for it and could not find it. I sympathize with those who might be angry with me, because I sometimes get annoyed with newbies on other forums doing stupid things, but...

Only two of the five winning maps were (what I'd regard as) 'unconventional', and none of them involved great replayability, game-play or aesthetics.
All I can really say is I'm glad an NReality map didn't win this one...

Not everyone uses adblock. If you want a better prize, I suggest winning.Pikman wrote:So how come third place doesn't get a prize?r_t, in the topic title, wrote:(Official discussion/bitch thread!)

Err, I don't see how they do at all. Perhaps the issue is not the theme, but rather your interpretation of it.amomentlikethis wrote:Why do these contests keep aiming themselves at NReality maps?

I don't know how you could say this. Out of six competitions and 30 winners only 2 have been NReality maps. So 7% of the winning maps are NReality maps, sounds like you are right amlt, this is getting out of hand. :Pamomentlikethis wrote:Why do these contests keep aiming themselves at NReality maps?
