NUMA needs more moderators

I imagine if the site was to get flooded with pornographic images within comments it'd take a good 5 or 6 hours for them to be noticed by the moderators (if not reported on IRC), and this saddens me.
Maybe not necessarily more moderators, but more active moderators. I think I mentioned something about community interaction before, and I think that's what NUMA needs.
Edit: Never mind, it seems the community still reject my opinions as I bitch about everything.
Sigh.

I reported nUMAnUMAnUMA around 2 hours ago for making a seemingly non-joking comment on a perfectly reasonable map of: "Please no more".
I then checked out his profile to find that his only two maps are Metanet copies with no credit, so I reported those too.
Around an hour later I decide to post on IRC that I find it funny how, despite being active on IRC, the NUMA moderators weren't dealing with the comment or maps.
Because of that I end up getting told I was trolling by Skyline (which I wasn't - I don't even know if he knows what trolling actually is). Gloomp decides that the maps have credited Metanet in the comments (which they haven't, frankly). And I end up banned from the #n channel.
I'd like to know what I did wrong. I'd also like an explanation of why I can't report a non-productive comment and two plagiarised maps without being told that I bitch about everything.
Edit: This was supposed to be an edit of the previous post. I can't merge my own posts though.

I personally would be pretty pissed if someone resubmitted one of my maps and just said oh it was made by some other guy and gave no actual credit... Would you not feel the same way? Would you not regard that as somewhat plagiarist?<+amomentlikethis> Let me just go resubmit some of your maps, gloomp, and tell people to play them only using one direction key.
<+amomentlikethis> I'm allowed to do that right?
<+amomentlikethis> I'll just tell people it isn't my map
<@gloomp> Feel free, yeah.
According to gloomp, the moderation list would be very active if it was checked once every 5 or 6 hours. I see that as not very active more than anything.

Comment made on his first map.nUMAnUMAnUMA wrote:Recently I had a broken arrow key. In that time I found that while most maps on NMAPs were uncompletable, a surprising number of Meta maps were and were actually quite fun, adding a challenge that didn't exist in the original map.
I thought it would be interesting to try and find which maps best worked like this and were completable with only one arrow key. This one needed one extremely minor tweak but plays well. I don't expect credit for the tiles or even the gameplay, I'm just planning on introducing a new way of playing some of the originals that I've found enjoyable.
I think we're all grown up enough to distinguish between this and plagiarism.
Right?

Also, pissing off the mods is not a good way to get them to help you.

Sure, but he doesn't actually credit Metanet, he just says that he's been playing through the original N maps with a broken key and that this map he had submitted needed a minor tweak... Surely the map would be more suited to a forum topic, no? A, "These maps are fun to play with only one direction key!" kinda thing.a happy song wrote:Comment made on his first map.

Right?
If my PC was stuck in some inverted display mode, would I really get away with resubmitting maps like Afternoon Dragon with a description explaining to view the map inverted? I don't think so.
His second map is an exact copy of the original Metanet map - and nowhere on it does he credit Metanet whatsoever.
As far as I'm aware I wasn't pissing anyone off. All I did was making a joking comment in #n (whilst two NUMA moderators were in the conversation, not idle) that a report I made a while back hadn't been dealt with. I was then greeted with a "there's nothing wrong with these maps, all you do is bitch and complain about everything", and a ban from the channel.scythe wrote:Also, pissing off the mods is not a good way to get them to help you.
I don't quite know how that's pissing off the mods. That's more the mods pissing me off, no?
According to gloomp, the maps had already been reported. That shows that I'm not alone in thinking there's something wrong with the maps...

There's no need for pointless antagonism, I'll give you that.
Also asked him to credit metanet.
Crisis over.

Am I allowed to be unbanned from the #n IRC channel now too?

I'd say yes as the guys are clearly being dicks to you, but I don't venture there as most of them are dicks.amomentlikethis wrote:Thank you.a happy song wrote:The comment has been deleted and the user told.

This is true, you have to understand that largely, the moderation staff are kids or teenagers and aren't being paid. Sure I would love an active staff.amomentlikethis wrote: According to gloomp, the moderation list would be very active if it was checked once every 5 or 6 hours. My point was really more the queue doesn't need to be checked every twenty minutes, which was his idea of active. The community on a normal day just isn't very volatile, and if NUMA was having some sort of spampocalypse or whatever someone would think to mention it on IRC, where it would be noticed before very long.rocket_thumped wrote:This is true, you have to understand that largely, the moderation staff are kids or teenagers and aren't being paid. @RT. I would believe that approximately half if not more mods are legally adults.
I would also like to point out the amount of flaming/flame-baiting that goes around on maps as well as comments: http://www.nmaps.net/203181, http://www.nmaps.net/203180, and http://www.nmaps.net/190293.
Not to say that I have done none of these, but these are prevalent problems on NUMA.

I am not constantly being rated 2s. I get a snipe then I get a 4. Then some other ratings. Sometimes, I get sniped several times in a row. If you'd listen and pay attention to what I have said on those maps, maybe you'd understand. It [tires me so to have to explain this over and over again.xVxCrushloaderusSupremusxVx wrote:Rating your map a 2 isn't a crime...

I see many comments from you that seem to go against popular opinion. And while there's nothing wrong with that, you do it in a superior tone or lacking any real constructive feedback. If they're were a sniper problem, I can see a root cause.Ferox wrote:I am not constantly being rated 2s. I get a snipe then I get a 4. Then some other ratings. And you're not superior, you're an average mapper imo who, in my experience, is very unwelcoming of criticism. Some people might react maliciously toward the combination of these things.
I've not played many maps by you that I've rated above a 2, I'd imagine you'd consider these ratings snipes when they're not.

My suggestion: Start a rating school to keep them entertained.
