I feel the caps are warranted, TRO, if you get this pinned, feel free to de-capitalise. main thread!
If you want to participate, all you have to do is click here. (I did all the work for you, just hit submit!)
Now, I know most highscorers aren't necessarily into mapping, but I think it's important that you make some nominations, even if you just nominate 3 potential candidates that you think had a great year in 2011 for the "player of the year" category as well as taking a a few minutes to find 3 runs (remember they have to have been made in 2011 to qualify. (Using Legit mode to confirm time stamps if necessary).
The more active highscorers/speedrunners that participate in this, the more accurate this award will be.

Hi I'd like to drive his point about the award's accuracy home really fast by saying that I just turned in a player of the year nomination for xaelar, for what is either the third or fourth year in a row
Some of us are *utterly* oblivious to the hs community, so let's see what y'all have for us

Yeah I think it is clear that Eddy is player of the year. As for run of the year. That is debatable. I am also having trouble coming up with my noms this year since we have to think back like 5 months, and then think back a year for the actual runs.
What are you guys thinking?
Oh and ska I can pin this in the C&T forum only, but I can't make announcements. My power is limited to just this forum.

*** HERE IS THE ORIGINAL POST THAT I DELETED ***
I don't see why EMG should be player of the year.
Seriously, we shouldn't forget the contribution of glib_jase in terms of innovation, as, for example, 40-0. (and much more)
*** HERE IS SOME COMPLEMENT ***
I deleted the first post because I added stupid questions to it. I think I now understand the nomination process.
Can we participate just in 2 categories ? Like player/run of the year ?
@ van : sorry, and the much more is all the other innovation that has been made, including 72-4.

Oh I thought you meant the 'much more' related with glib. 72-4 happened in 2012 anyway, I think.eru_bahagon wrote:, and the much more is all the other innovation that has been made, including 72-4.

If anyone wants to post what they think were the best runs made last year, that would be much appreciated because I have not been following them at all (the rise of Eddy is also news to me, well done dude!)

Eddy undoubtedly deserves to win, but I'd like to nominate Raif for his MBD work (I guess most of his real-time 0ths are from 2012 but the MBDs are more than influential and entertaining enough for a nomination, IMO)

I knew I had erased a stupid question to ask another one. I've read the other post (official, the one who's "top pin") but nothing was said about highscoring community. And I didn't understand what to send to Aidiera ("pledged" for those who wonder, to get a code -apparently). I end up on the page with all the nominations, and didn't know what to do, so went back here, only to later realized that I didn't pay enough attention to your message. Sorry ~~ska wrote:eru_bahagon wrote: Can we participate just in 2 categories ? I'm pretty sure all high-scorers would agree, although I clearly came up with some great innovs last year, 2011 belongs to EMG. Period.

The JOKE is that it wasn't even glib_jase that came up with that route on 40-0. (Check the time stamps, I posted it a full day before glib used that route - not the first time this has come up either... Eru did, however, come up with the 2 jumps on the top left method near the ending part as far as I can tell.glib_jase wrote:Heh, is this joke still ongoing?eru_bahagon wrote: Seriously, we shouldn't forget the contribution of glib_jase in terms of innovation, as, for example, 40-0. For run of the year I am partial to my and van's route change on 61-2 for 4.5+ seconds. It has since been beaten, but only in 2012 by Eddy.
Van's de-naem-ing of 79-4.
xaelar/LFT's 44-1.
AP's 92-4
van's 00-4
Eddy's 11-4
xaelar's 19-0
ska's 23-0.
I am sure I am forgetting some. Any other ideas guys?

I had this partial list : (I deleted the run already posted, minus my possible nomination)
(25-1), (29-2), 46-4, (59-2), (66-1), 79-4, 92-4
all zeroth, 46-4 is van's innov' right ?
In non-parenthesis are the top 3 runs. I might nominate 66-1 from xaelar.

As for 46-4, that isn't really anyone's innovation. I suggested getting the three extra gold to Raif and he MDBed it. But I doubt I am first to think that it is possible. Van however is the first to ever pull it off real time, so I would give him the nom for the run.
