I can't remember the level name, but do you think this could help in a run (or is it redundant)?
This is level 79-2, and the innov was already implemented.
Haha... That's hilarious. Not only did you do the innov—I did it ages ago but evidently forgot that I did. Good to know that at least his innov was made use of .
For whatever it's worth, when I took the 0th on 79-2 I independently found that innov and used it, believing at the time that nobody else had ever used it or even found it. I don't think I ever improved on that run, and even if I did certainly didn't change the route, so if you look at my run there you'll see how I used it at that time.
[16:24] <@golfkid> I'm pretty sure I will literally scream if I die on the last column of 78-4 at this point
[16:25] <trance> Oh, yeah. That level.

[16:30] <@golfkid> It looks so simple

Does anyone else feel like there should be a faster route on 18-4? It just seems odd to have found the optimal route on a level that is so nonlinear.

Funny you should mention 18-4 because not too long ago I was considering MBDing it and came up with a new route in the process. Not sure it's actually faster though because I haven't done any testing.

Interesting... I had a bit of a go with your route, but I couldn't really get it work in a way that was comparable to the 0th, as I was usually a couple seconds or so behind. In any case, my idea was something like this:

The red dots indicate jumps, and the blue line was just an alternate idea. I have no idea how quick this route is, but my hope was that some of the active highscorers could give it a test run.

I've got a time of 103.225 using a completely new route I made up (submitted under my 'ska' alias). The ending is slow, but it's just a proof-of-concept route. What do you guys think? Am I onto something? It's definitely faster than the old-school method used by Johnny_faneca and co. Maybe it could be faster with some route tweaking?

By the way, Raif, I think the fabled quadruple bounceblock jump could be done in an MBD for this level in at least once place. What do you think?

Your route does seem quite promising ska. I came with a MBD route based on it, which I might have a go at doing tonight.

Blocked by a drone at the last bit. But even then I think I'm only about 20 frames faster than Eddy, so I'm not sure if this route is actually faster. An MBD of the current 0th route could save a similar amount. The quad and the first corner triple couldn't be incorporated into the run because they were too powerful.

What about doing this ending instead?

Same story with that route, the drone kills you. However I came up with an alternate second half for the route and got an MBD 0.800 faster than Eddy. Eddy's run is pretty clean so this route is probably faster than the current 0th route.

Demo here: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=2 ... 71#p177071

I've been sitting on this 27-1 innovation for years. I'm wondering if this is doable, but I can't be bothered testing.

It's used in speedrun so I think it might be possible.

I found another route change at the start of 27-1 speedrun but ran into a problem later:

It might be possible to get the corner jump you suggested and escape from the seeker just in time but only if everything else is executed perfectly.

And you're just the man for the job! I expect to see a new 0th on my desk by the end of the month!
