I'm trying to figure out if I dislike this map because I'm no good at it or because it's so claustrophobic. Probably a bit from column A and B.

So far, so good for you. I've gotten within a frame of your time now, but just had an idea that I think might be faster. Just have to actually survive the bottom ending to see.

Edit: Omigod! First time I've had one of these moments/feelings in a long time, where something unexpected happens (in this case for the first time ever!) and it turns out to be super helpful. Half a second helpful for me o.O This route change was already a much bigger improvement over my previous one, but this just propels it to a whole other level. Just shy of 134.5 now :D

I got a 107.175 on this new map, and since then I've 20 times gotten 107 or better without improving. golf's stupid preliminary time is just sitting there taunting me. Also, my route is super badass, this map is way cool.

I don't think I'll be able to get a run done this week. I'm leaving tomorrow to see my cousins and will spend the rest of the week at their place, and I probably won't play any N there. So see you next week, unless I manage to get something done tonight.

Been waiting for this update, and your rundown/opinion of what happened with last weeks map :D

Well, it finally happened that everyone used a different route, including an unexpected demo from macrohenry. And everyone was split by about a second, which is pretty cool. To my amateur eye, I can't really tell what's down to routing and what's execution since we all grabbed different amounts of gold before going up top.

I also thought that was pretty cool, although I haven't seen macro's demo yet. Just was looking right after the deadline to see what kind of routes people had and if I had missed anything important. I see what you said about being less passive around the middle rocket, Lou... I think I managed to be more aggressive in my route :) Agreed with what you say about not being sure just which route is the fastest, although I do think its interesting we all used pretty much the same route for the top chamber.

In our head-to-head-to-head, golfkid crushed with a very smooth looking run. I really love the over-under one-way maneuver into the squeezey jump right at the end. That makes it my demo of the week. Have fun all on the next map.

That finishing move is what I was getting all excited about in my last post. Not sure exactly how that happened, was never planned in the first place and I had never done it before. Really came down to luck that I got the squeezy jump instead of being crushed in the corner, or no jump at all. My planned route was to land on top of the oneway that I missed, and then jump over the rockets to the exit. The finish that I got improved my run by half a second. The main route change that saved me almost 2 seconds was splitting the middle gold into before and after the top, instead of getting both sets before going up.

LOL! That was actually my first (and only, so far, haven't tried again) agd on this map. I'm sure that there's better routes, just haven't had the time to go and try to find them yet.

Broke 150! Easily improved if I get the right rocket manipulation.

I know the rocket pattern will be subtly different, and maybe more favorable, if I mirror my route, but it's actually nauseating and almost painful to reconcile my new route and the reversed controls with what my visual and muscle memory want to do. Anyone else ever experience that?

E: Traded my route for one with no enemy manipulation but a hard to grab piece of gold. It's probably slower, but it's less frustrating - got a 150.800.

I've also taken 0th on the last 2 weeks maps, but ska's run on the week before looks super clean so I won't compete with that.

Oh boy, jp comes back with a vengeance! I thought since I had a terrible ending I would blow ska's mind even more once I got it, but I wasn't fast enough to do it I guess. Looking forward to seeing jp's route. And everybody else's too, I guess. This seems like it'll have many routes again.
