well you can still play the maps, maybe you can play in 'amateur playoff', there will be players who don't advance from the groups stage into the main playoff (well as i'm watching poll results, it will be more of an elimination than playoff)

Yeah, sorry about not submitting runs. I just had so much stuff going lately. Haven't had enough time to sit down and make a good run. You may as well drop me from contest. I will be back in school on the 5th and then I will have more time and I may host my own competition.

Edit: nevermind. just fooled around a bit. My run was just really not clean, the same route can probably get 124.

also now it looks that the elimination style is going to win, is everyone ok with that? it won't be really blur then, but i guess i'll better do it elimination if more people like that concept

I don't understand the difference between :

- elimination, 4 people out each week, 2 maps, 2 weeks
and
- elimination, 4 people out each week, 1 map, 1 week


In the first case, we eliminate 8 people, right ?
In the second case, we eliminate 4 people ? (i mean, there is only one round ?)

Therefore, there will stay 12 people... 8 is simplier because we can do quarter final, semifinal and final...

eru it means, that 2 maps 2 weeks counts as 1 round, after 2 weeks the runs from 2 maps will sum up and last 4 players will be out

And the final concept will be like this (i'll put it into 2nd post, too):
After this groups stage, 10 people who are first in thei groups, advance. 6 more people who have the highest (hs) / lowest (sr) score advance, too.
Then there will be 2 rounds, each one taking 1 week, each one will have 1 map to play. These 2 rounds will be elimination-style. That means, after each round, 4 worst players will say bye bye.
Then, we will seed the remaining 8 based on their last 2 rounds performance (summing both runs up). Then we will continue using this 1vs1 system http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... als_v2.png . It's pretty fair.
If there are any question, ask.
So the competition will last another 6 weeks after round 3 ends. Are you okay with that or do you want to make it somehow shorter? Propose your ideas. I'll make a poll, too.
