28520 - over 2000 frames for agd, quite linear, a mine jumpervankusss wrote:(rules: 300-600 speedrun route, about 800-2000 frames long hs route, a lot of different hs routes, no minejumpers, no races, no ddas, everyone should be able to finish it at least, no image maps
73170 - again pretty linear
8917 - extremely linear / xaelar already has a good run on that.

a clear run <2000 frames is possible but it is still really linear.28520 - over 2000 frames for agd, quite linear, a mine jumper
And, what is a mine jumper ? The jump at the beginning of 51-0 ?

No... Maps like 88-4 constitute a mine jumper.eru_bahagon wrote: And, what is a mine jumper ? The jump at the beginning of 51-0 ?

a map can be linear and also a mine jumper (such as 88-4). linear means you are restricted to one main path only (like in the original Super Mario Bros) A mine jumper is pretty self-explanatory.eru_bahagon wrote:Then, what's the difference between 'linear' and 'mine jumper' ?

Anyway round 5 is over.

You have 3 days to suggest maps from now.
Everyone can suggest 1 map.
After 3 days I'll put ALL maps into poll.
(It's about next rounds map, of course.)

Okay... let me just let this sink in...
OK.
Vankusss, (if you haven't hanged yourself already) I want to say thank you for initiating this contest. I think we can all be thankful to vankusss for at least putting the effort into Blur 4, even if it was a bit rushed. I'm going to take that outburst as a resignation from all aspects of Blur 4, including competing.
Now, I have a proposal which eliminates the problem of me playing my own map and replaces van to maintain a fair draw. Basically, I'm offerering a wildcard position which will allow an eliminated contestant in both speedrun and highscore to win their way into the final 8 for the respective sections. However, as I promised, I want to keep the competitors interests at heart, and I want to make sure you guys are down with this decision. The other option I have is to promote the 9th position players to 8th, which would annoyingly require me to reconstruct the draw entirely, and I don't want to waste time with that hassle. HOWEVER! If you feel this is unfair, I'm more than happy to do this, just be warned there would be a small delay. The wildcard round will be on my map and will not be a private contest.
Aerobatics 101 by ska.
The highest ranked player who is not already in the top 8 for the respective category will be entitled to join Blur 4 as a wildcard in the same position as van was for each. I am suggesting 3 days to submit your run for that map from the date I publish the map on numa - let me know if more time is required. This means xaelar, TFK and anyone else could potentially win their way back in. Click here for more details.

possible R6 candidates:
162973, 162849, 144672 (door moved closer), 198027, 186078 (left switch will be deleted probably), 185678, 158402, 150865
if anyone has any problem with any of those, write a comment with explanation; tomorrow i'll put the non-problematic ones for 2-3 days poll, so R6 will start probably on Tuesday

Dislike: 162973 (once again, not suitable for this competition) 162849 is ok, but it's a bit monotonous and lacks replay value.vankusss wrote:current standings, lol:

144672 - this is a joke... right? 198027 - ¿No? 186078 - too tedious and the fastest route is fairly obvious. 185678 - Another Riobe map? What's wrong with you? 158402 - *sigh* another Riobe map - this is also linear. So that leaves... no maps!
Vankusss... you bailed on your own competition because you said you didn't care. Now obviously you regret saying that now, but until then we need trust that you /will/ care. As for the PMs: firstly, a PM you write yourself and is kept private isn't very convincing to me, secondly, people 'voting' for you are being disillusioned and bias and are only voting for you because you started it, not because they think you'll do a better job necessarily and perhaps would rather see you stay than run off crying again.

In the efforts of moving on, do we even need a specific host? All of the work around organizing the entries and groups is out of the way now. We just vote on a map, have Meta upload it, play it and move on in accordance to the brackets.
I kinda like 162849 - maybe a bit rocket heavy.
I suggest 188370 (maybe a bit weak for sr) and 184079
598 Metanet top-20s in September 2007 (ranked 0th)
