Hello. I ran this thing. It was long and cruel. For me a little boring at the end. But I think the contestants had a good time. Some of them. Sometime.
I'm part glad and part not glad that I started it. Mostly because of the organization things and stuff.
Sr event went pretty suprising, since Kool, who won every round he participated in except 1st one, lost in finals. But Arctic_Pony deserves it fully (loool english), too. Here's his demo:

Romaniac won the hs event, congrats! I don't have his demo, he might want to share it here. Someone pls PM Unreality with unlocking all the maps (send him ID's so he doesn't have to look for them). I'm sure it will be fun to watch, especially the first round filled with demos :)
Well done to other hs contestans, especially 999_Springs, who made it far further that I would expect of him, really well done.

Overall, I'm satisfied. We've seen some cool and clean demos, some innovative routes, some buhuhu.

I have also another contest idea, it's called ROPP. It stands for Random, Open, Private and Protected. It runs for 2 weeks, no registration time, 4 maps are chosen and played for whole 2 weeks. 1 map is submitted as normally (open), another one is with protected contest feature (you can see only scores of other people), another one is private (you can't see nor runs nor scores) and the last one is random from three previous types. This is the definition of 1 round of ROPP. Another round can be held for example 2 months later, so people aren't overplayed with N. 2 weeks from 2 months sounds good. There can be some ATP rankings (like in tennis) or something like that (6 'tournaments' or 'rounds' a year). Maybe some Masters Tournament at the end. I'll let you to decide the details. The host can play, too. Maps can be chosen from numa or created. The point is to keep the competition short and action-full. Hope it will happen.

But here is my run. Took me about two hours. It was also the first AGD completion in about an hour of playing, my previous best time being 202.875 or something abouts. I was really quite lucky to not get killed by the gauss twice in the middle room at the start.
That gauss was always killing me. I'm sorry that you didn't try a whole lot more on this last round van, I was really looking forward to a great competition in this final round and when you view my run you will see that it is beatable. I think you were just not using the right route.


Mad props to van for hosting this, I had a lot of fun, and it was great to finally take it out in the end.
I think perhaps there were a few too many rounds, maybe having three in the final (like BLUR 3) would have shortened the competition length a bit. As you said, two months is a lot of time to be dealing with this.
Thanks to ChrisE for creating the early maps and to van for finding the later maps. I was doubtful about the choice for this final map, but I really liked it in the end.

So yeah, BLUR 5 next June eh?

I'll also throw in my congrats to Arctic and Remaniac. As for whether I enjoyed this contest, I definitely enjoyed watching it, although I most likely couldn't compete even if I had come back in time to participate. Still, it was a lot of fun, and I hope we keep this tradition going.
