Highscoring podcast?

Hey guys.
I know a lot of you don't have English as your first language and are in different time zones and that. But I wanted to try something that hasn't been done before to my knowledge. Get as many as the active highscorers that there are in the one ventrillo channel (or wherever) and just record the conversation, and upload as a podcast episode. I do this mainly to drum up support for nominating for The Dronies, as it is a thing that has been running for 10 years, and I'd hate to see it fail under these circumstances. However, I think the idea just by itself is interesting. I plan for the episode to be fairly short (less than 30 minutes, but it can go longer.)

I don't really mind if your English isn't the best - this isn't the G8 summit. I just want to discuss things that people reading this text want to know. You don't even need to be an active highscorer to join, perhaps you're just a commentator or retired player, I don't really mind. Let me reiterate, this is just a focus on highscoring - you don't need to hold x amount of 0ths to join. This is not supposed to be some kind of elitist circle jerk; I just want some thoughts and opinions from a scene which is often overlooked within this great game.

If there are only 3 people, that's cool - it would be more intimate, I suppose.

If there is interest for this, I will try and schedule a time and date that fits most people who are interested.

I may also try and set up a Q + A and pose questions to different players. I think we might get some fascinating insights out of this.

Cheers!

Time zones might be a major problem, but if something gets arranged I'm willing to participate. Speaking of time zones, mine is GMT +2.

I'm interested in joining up. Pretty much can only consistently count on weekends for availability, can let you know that already. My time zone is the same as trance's, GMT-4

I'd like to participate. I will need to buy a microphone and get some time available; weekends work best. I am GMT -4

Thanks guys. I'm impressed by the feedback. I actually think a group conversation on Skype might work best. (We can record it, too)
I was thinking 09:00am GMT+11 this Sunday, (7pm Satuday night for those on GMT -4, midnight for +1, and 1am for +2) I'm currently having mic issues with my laptop, so I'll probably be joining from my iPhone, but recording it from my laptop, since you can be logged in on multiple machines. (Someone else might want to record though, as a backup.)
Edit: above problem resolved!

My skype name is: electricmaster23
Please feel free to add me, and state your metanet screen name in the message.

Edit: Let me know if this time works for you, and I'll add you in! I've just completed a sound check.

Participants so far:

vankusss

1am is a little late for me. I might still be awake at that hour, but I will be very tired and since I still live with my parents and my sister's room is right next to mine, I won't be able to talk very loud (not as loud as I normally would anyway). So the time is a bit of a problem for me, but if you've got some questions for me in particular or some other reason why I would be valuable, I'll see what I can do.

Honestly I may not be an active highscore man but hell I read this thread everyday and I go back and watch the demo's when needed. I would be down to talk and give my opinions

I doubt I'll be able to take part in this, but it sounds like an awesome idea. (Plus if everyone takes part who will be left to listen to it :p)

I agree, that was fun. Looking back, I wish I'd shut my mouth a bit more. Thanks for organizing this, ska.

Lol no man, I don't see why you would wish that. In my case, I wish I could have spoken more fluently, writting is way easier haha, I have time to think and correct myself and nobody realizes my shitty pronunciation xD I was also a bit nervous everytime I spoke I have to say, mainly because of the pronunciation as well, which made me trip a lot haha, but I don't regret it, it was a pretty good experience and I hope we do more episodes :D

I think you did just fine Eddy, and I am going to assume that most people who will listen to this know that English isn't your first language (as well as for vankusss) and will be understanding that you don't speak quite as fast as the rest of us. I know you did much better than I would have done trying to speak Spanish.

I'm gonna record a few "hmmmms" and "oh yeahs!" and "hehehehehs" for ska to throw randomly into the podcast.

That's slightly longer than 30 minutes :p
I might have to listen to this over a few sessions.

That's fine! I was thinking about breaking it up into installments, but yeah, you can always pause. The file should automatically playback from where you paused if you use iTunes/iDevices.
