Real-time count down.
replay here!
Image
This will be a real-time column speedrun between golf and myself on the 0th column of N 1.4.
If you can't make it, but want to see the race at a later stage, I will be editing and uploading the race on YouTube with full commentary. I look forward to seeing lots of people on twitch; should be a good race.

See you there!

Seems to be at 3am here... I'll try to be there, but I can't promise anything.

This is cool. I almost certainly won't be there though, since it's past midnight and I need to keep my sleep schedule reasonable for school reasons.

I don't know if I'll be around but I'll be excited to see how it goes afterwards. Good luck both.

Yeah... sorry about the time... golfkid realised when we came up with the time that Europe would be kind of screwed over, but I think that's just the nature of a global community. I'll ensure that the video is spoiler free, so that you won't know the result until the end of the video.

No spoilers. After a 30 minute delay, the race went off without a hitch. It was a very exciting race, with the added element of not being able to see each other's progress. As I've previously said, no spoilers about the result; we'll put up the race in HD with full commentary as soon as we can.

I had a lot of fun doing this, and wouldn't mind doing it again. Hopefully we can get more people into doing this sort of thing, whether streaming races or even just doing a solo column speedrun. No spoilers from me either, but it came down to the final episode and was a pretty close finish. :)

btw, it seems golf delayed his start by a few seconds, so don't be surprised if his commentary sounds a few seconds behind. ;)

So far I've only had a quick look but conceptually I love this and want to see more of it.

Thanks. Also, in case someone can tell, I am the first speaker with the Australian accent, and golf is the American. You'd find that out contextually pretty quickly anyway, but just thought I'd mention that.

I finally got around to watching the video. That was a lot of fun to watch. Who knew that 09-3 would be so tough. I love how even though you two were several levels apart at one point it came down to less than a minute difference. I also edited the column speed run thread with your times and video.

EDIT: I took the times from the end of ska's video so let me know if those aren't exact.

i just watched this. very entertaining - and i may even feel like doing one of these column speedrun contests myself sometime as a way to get back into playing the game if i feel that way inclined. as long as it's not column 0, since everybody else is too good at that. maybe column 1 or 3 or 4?

i just lost my entire poker bankroll on tilt 1010 vs AA AIOTR 10A827 i hate my life

Golfrukiddingme VS Skarf.. Imogen (english name) VS Marquierro Herring !

I liked Ben's near miss with the seeker when he finished 9-3 (26.45 min on video) and it turned out to be significant... Nice video

Are you sure you don't mean 26:25? And yeah, that was fortunate :D

Ahah, loved watching this, and loved the differences in the accents :p It would be fun to have the same thing with non-native english speakers

Glad you enjoyed it, I had a blast doing it. Just too bad that I didn't end up winning :( We've talked about trying to get a macro vs Eddy matchup, but so far that hasn't happened. They're both too worried about the speaking part of things :P

Let's make this happen. Nobody cares about their English capability; actually, i think it would be amusing if their English was terrible, but judging by the quality of their posts on here, I think their English is excellent.
