[align=center]International Take a 0th Off xaelar Week[/align]

That's right folks! It is now International Take a 0th Off xaelar Week! xaelar has been on top of the scoreboards for quite some time now. It is time to rise up as a collective and give him a decent challenge in all aspects of high scoring in the wondrous game that is n.

Premise:
The idea behind the event is to award peoples efforts against the high scoring machine that is xaelar. You will receive points for getting a 0th from xaelar on the servers for NUMA, speedrun, episodes 100-199 and the Metanet episodes. Point allocation will be described in the rules section.

Now, we can't have an event like this without letting xaelar defend his position. We will therefore take away any points gained on a level if xaelar reclaims the 0th. xaelar will have his own score which counts how many points he has recovered. So xaelar has a fair time to play the maps, we will give him extra time, outlined in the rules.

Not only will you have the satisfaction of besting xaelar on a handful of levels, there will be prizes for the top three point scorers!

Rules:
- You must submit all scores using NReality 6c2, which can be downloaded from here. This includes runs submitted to the original Metanet server.
- Please ensure legit mode is switched off for NReality runs. This means xaelars early NReality runs are included.
- All valid runs must be submitted between 25/10/08, 5am GMT and 2/11/08, 5am GMT.
- Post as much as you like in this thread, but you must post/edit in your 0ths taken from xaelar in a single post for them to be considered. In the same post, please state your scoreboard nickname if it differs from your forum nickname.
- To avoid the issue of naming cheaters on the Metanet boards, xaelar's 0ths must either be in 0th place or there are only hackers in front of his score.
- xaelar will have until 5/11/08, 5am GMT to reclaim 0ths, but will not be counted in the points table. We will keep a separate tally for him.
- If you happen to take a reclaimed 0th from xaelar, you get the points and xaelar loses any points he gained for reclaiming it as long as it is before the deadline.
- You can compete for 0th place (and the points) on any level that has had a 0th taken from xaelar in the week.
- You should submit scores as you get them. You should also update your progress here as regularly as possible.

Scoring:
- Point allocation for taking a 0th will be as follows:

• 5 points for a NUMA highscore 0th
• 15 points for a NUMA highscore *0th
• 10 points for an NReality level/episode speedrun 0th, episodes 0 to 199
• 25 points for an NReality level/episode highscore 0th, episodes 100 to 199
• 100 points for a Metanet level/episode 0th

- Note that any points gained for taking a 0th from xaelar will be removed if xaelar claims it back. We will keep a tally of how many points he recovers.

Prizes:
Custom signatures will be crafted for the top three point scorers by prominent image makers, Chase, incluye and squibbles.

Results
The week is over, and the winners have been decided. Third place goes to ska with 3 0ths and 120 points. Second place is darkshadow with a whopping 14 0ths and 290 points. In first place, by a significant margin, is the charismatic eru_bahagon, with an amazing 6 metanet 0ths giving him 600 points! Congratulations to the winners, and prizes are being organised for their efforts.

A huge thanks must go to xaelar for reclaiming a huge 20 0ths and 300 points. Once again he proves his prowess on the leaderboards!

What happens if someone takes a 0th, then xaelar retakes it, then someone else takes it? Who gets the points?

yes, Dan has already talked with xaelar. Although I came up with the initial idea Dan got the whole thing of the ground. I think the points system will definitely add a tangy twist to this comp :P

I got a couple of nreality 0ths off xaelar just last week but I wasn't tempted to hold them back in the spirit of the comp :P
