I'm thinking of running a contest where you can use whatever method you want - FBF, manual demo building, etc, to get a good speedrun/hs on a map.
But I want an opinion from the community before running it :)


I guess most people think it's a good idea...so...

RULES
1. This is an FBF/MBD/whatever contest. You are NOT REQUIRED to submit your runs to NReality.
2. There will be 10 rounds. Person with the LOWEST score (speedrun) or HIGHEST score (hs) at the end of the ten rounds...wins.
3. There will be simultaneous highscore and speedrun competitions on the same map.
4. Scoring system for BOTH HS AND SPEEDRUN.
-----At every round, your score will simply be your framecount or seconds.
5. Maps will be determined by suggestion and voting. You can suggest maps via this thread, PM, IRC, etc.....
6. Rounds will be one week long each.
7. You submit runs by PMing me with your run or submitting to NReality if it's realtime
8. Scores for the current round (but not demoes!) will be shown in this post.
9. People not submitting runs for HS or SR will score a certain number of points calculated by a secret (but simple) formula based on the runs submitted (so it will change when runs are submitted), but it will be penalizing
10. You may enter at any time in the competition.
11. I will be unofficially participating. I can't participate for real because I can cheat too easily.
12. If there is a tie in voting, we will solve it by doing two rounds in one two-week round.

I think.... people should manually build their demos...... that would be hella fun.

It would be fun to see people's runs, but I'm afraid that moh would win every round with his mbd's and experience. But I still say go for it.

I voted for good idea, but it really doesn't matter if you run it or not, moh already won :P There is just noone who can compete with him.

I'll maybe try to find a map tomorrow, but i'm for something short for the first round (like 200 frames or so). So i guess searching for maps tagged small might be a good idea.

The Black Lion, only guy who use seriously the underclocked mode in all the community will be in for both (i will also fbf, depending of the map).

Two weeks, two rounds. 187330 and 40278...GO! at the same time, poll for round 3 and map suggestions for round 4 are open!

538 frames on 40278 speed. Will work on hs a bit later.

I don't like 40278, this is a little tricky but not very interressant.
But 187330 is very fun, i got 428 in speedrun after 4-5 fbf try, Will do better.

538 537 frames speed and 85.225 85.400 highscore on 40278.

I am going to have to drop from this, I feel like a schmuck this is the second comp I have drop from, but I really just don't want to make a demo for this and since this is supposed to be fun I don't want it to feel like work, so sorry guys, but I am out. I am going to stay away from comp for a while because I can't seem to make my self participate.

Demo sending. They are quite bad because i've only few hours this week for working on it. Anyways it was cool. I impatient for watching Moh's mdb demos.
