TICKTOCK [Round 3 Starts!] {Round 2 Results!}

READ ALL OF THE FIRST POST IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE.
ROUND THREE STARTS - SEE COMMENTS
So I was thinking of a contest idea, and am trying to put this into real life. Because my idea was unfinished, I tried to get sayko's advice. Partial credit goes to him.
Anyways, I will copy and paste this from Word, so don't expect a lot. Read it all if you're interested. It explains pretty much anything.
Here it is:

TICKTOCK
This competition is a TIMED challenge. It will go something like this:
There will be X minutes making tilesets (no playtesting) and the same number of minutes placing objects and playtesting.
There will be a restriction as well, be it eliminating a type of tile or object, type of map …
You will have to use this - http://www.free-online-stopwatch.com/ - timer to make things easier and consistent. If you are off by a few seconds, it won’t matter too much.
Of course, use the honor system. If you post something like this - http://www.nmaps.net/5080 - I will be suspicious. Each round will have shorter and shorter time limits, and harder and harder restrictions.

As for the scoring, here is the rubric:
20 points asthetics,
20 points gameplay,
10 points replayability
50 altogether
Every round points will be tallied up, the person with the most points will win.
Each round will last one week, you have to submit it by then. The judges’ average points will decide the winner of the round and the points tallied up with the previous rounds'.
You will receive 0 points if not participating in a round and 10 points off if late.
HERE'S THE TWIST: The person with the highest points in the aesthetics portion will get 10% more time on the next round.
Tag your map TICKTOCK and on another tag rn(roundnumber) - ie. rn1, rn2, etc., or your map will not be counted.

No loopholes. This is what I think all of the loopholes are - feel free to remind me.
NO SPLITTING TIMES. for example, for a 5 min each one, somebody can't put 2 more minutes on the tileset and only 3 on objects.
NO BREAKS. Well, you can, but not just to think about what to do.
This is a TIMED challenge. Don't just think about it for a half hour when you get stuck in the middle.
You can cut off the times earlier than suggested, but it is not recommended. Nothing will happen if you cut off times, so make the most of your time.

The winner will get:
1st place – ded+10rates+userbar
2nd place – 7rates+userbar
3rd place – 4rates+userbar
With the rates, sayko and aerodynamic and I will each rate the allotted rates, and the judges will rate half the allotted amount (rounded down – 5, 3, and 2 respectively) to the maps of choice (if maps are not given, they will be chosen at random [as if they were just scanning the archive])

Example: I made a map a while ago like this type in case anybody wants what I did - http://www.nmaps.net/207107

Contestants:
Daikenkai/DDRave
Kablizzy (maybe) - if you want to, you can still join
lukesv
TheBlackLion
romaniac
Slayr
Hero/Sunset
Conen

Judges:
Sayko
Aerodynamic
I guess I'll judge then. *sigh*

About Questions
Feel free to ask them :) (after you read it, at least the major components).

Try to be creative. Doing something out of the ordinary will probably make you succeed (that doen't have horrible gameplay and aesthetics) :)

EDIT:
Some of you might wonder what the timer is about and when to start. The timer has a sound alarm, and you can pull N to the front, it will still work. It might be better to see it though.
You can start with a blank or full tileset AT THE PLAYTESTING SCREEN. That's it. You gotta have in mind the type of map you want.

Look on pages following for more info time-wise.

Intriguing. And well done. I may do something with this. I'll keep you informed.

If you post a map on Numa to declare this contest, people may notice it easier. You may put a link to this page on the description.

Lol. What I got when I searched ticktock. Despite the atob map, the tag will not change.

It can be really interresting indeed.
So if i well understand you wil post hte rules for the first round friday at 11h59'59'' and after we have for exemple 10' for make a map and post it to numa with the rigth tags.
Does it means every maps posted after 12h10 are eliminated ?
I just find that the rules about you have 5' for tiles and 5' for objects isn't good. Personally i often make the tileset and the objects at the same time...
Anyways count me in ;)

I make both at the same time too, but this way what is in mind can't be changed to the better.
The round starts at Friday 0:00 GMT (12:00, the beginning of Friday). You will have a week to make a map - with the rules stated above (x minutes for tileset, x minutes for objects and playtesting) - ending at Thursday midnight GMT (which is basically the same thing as Friday 0:00). The ones late will have 10 points taken off their score. The ones not posted by the time the judges vote will get 0 points. Tallying them up is how this contest is based, not elimination. I believe all of this is explained above.

question, do you /have/ to spend all allotted time on your map?

I mean, I map incredibly fast, so might not even use up all the time.
So what if there was something like, rollover minutes or something?

No, you don't have to, but it would be better. There are no rollover minutes. The time limit holds steadfast as seen above (except that the one with the highest aesthetics gets a 20 percent increase on their time). You guys should read the first post more carefully.

Yup, I'm interested in this. I've sorta done things like this before on IRC, of about 2 or 5 minutes length.
I guess you'll just have to trust everyone that they won't use more time.

I'll judge if you like; I'd like to see this thing get off the ground. I was debating on participating, but since I take hours on all my maps I don't think that would fly very well, so I can just try to judge, instead.

Round One - See Below
There will be 5 rounds, maybe 6, depending on how many people stay.

First Round nice and easy - 15 minutes each - tileset (no playtesting) and objects (with playtesting).
Restriction: NO SOLID OBJECTS ALLOWED. This means no objects except for gold, the exit, and launchpads (I'll allow those, as long they aren't used too extensively as a wall.

Exactly one week (minus one half-hour) - from 3:00 AM Wednesday GMT to 3:00 AM Wednesday GMT next week.

Tag the map ticktock and rn1, or your map will not be judged!

Here is the spot where I answer questions:

So the only objects we have are gold, exit and launchpads.
I assume then that all enemies are accepted.

My submission for this round

I hope it follows the rules correctly.

Do we have to submit our maps to NUMA

Lukesv - Well, you don't have to submit it to numa, you can put it on here. It would be better to submit it.
Romaniac - yep, that follows the rules. Good job.

it is most certainly not too late.

oh, by the way, I'm an insanely fast mapper. my map took 8 minutes overall, 2 minutes for tileset, and 6 for objects. I pulled that one right out.

Soooooo quick question. During that second object/playtest part, you cant change around the tiles then can you? I feel like that defeats the purpose. I think that we should go on the honor system and only use the tiles you gave yourself within the first portion... Thats how im doing it at least, it feels right to me. map coming soon.

Edit: actually, I'll be no good at this. I don't think I could ever refrain from re-editing tiles during object placement. But good luck to everyone! Already some cool maps out of this.
