One Life Challenge: Revival

I figured this forum needed more competition, so I decided to bring up this old favourite from 2008 and earlier, where it got some pretty decent competition on the old forums.

The rules are simple enough. You pick a NReality column and you start from the top and work your way downwards until you lose a life. When you die, the level that you got to represents your score. And then you start at the top all over again.

Note that this whole thing is going to rely on trust. There's no point lying on this - it's not going to matter in the end - and it's not that serious a challenge anyway. Any liars will, however, be prosecuted (whether or not they've been caught).

And all previous highscores have been killed. Like crappitrash's 45-4 on column 0. And Kablizzy's 56-1 on column 5.

I'll get this thing started.

Oh, and good luck. You're going to need it.

Also, I was going to create a bunch of silly polls to rival vankusss's Blur 4 polls but since this forum messes up all the poll options every time I edit a poll I decided against it.

I made it to 4-4, which is a soul-destroying level, before I died. Better than I thought I would do, though.

06-1 for Column 0. I'll start my 50s run soon.

...Wait, we're doing the Unreality levels too? Bahahahahahaha. Oh, this is sa-weet.

There is a way to have proofs: start each run with new .sol, submit the .sol with zero deaths. Of course, I'm not suggesting to follow it and/or making it a rule (that would be silly), just saying.

I remember last time I did this, I got to 5-3 in column 0, then did something terrible like 11-2 in the second column and got bored.

This is still a great idea, and I'm glad to see it revived; I might participate again.

Unfortunately, since you only know when you've lost when you die, then you'd have to submit a .sol with only one death... But then, people would continue on through runs with only a single death, pushing their luck onwards from there. We've had no problems with the trust system before - This community is good for it.

Anyone tried doing the 140's? One-life challenging the 140's is probably the most FRUSTRATING experience I've had in playing N for a long while. The pattern goes like this: it's easy up to 140-3, then the next 3 levels, 140-4, 141-0, 141-1 are very hard - not as maps themselves - but specially for the purposes of the 1 life challenge. Then it gets easy(ish) again until episode 144, but you still have to watch out for bumps.

Go on, give it a try and I accept no responsibility if you end up destroying your laptop (and window pane) in the process.

3-4 (stupid trap door...) 8-2
18-3! (really thought I was gonna go all the way for a second there...)

This is pretty fun, makes the easier levels a lot more nerve-wracking than usual.

Edit:
3-4 8-2
18-3
20-3 (...) 24-2
32-2 32-4
42-1 43-4 (...really?)
52-2
60-3
71-2 (this isn't going so well anymore...)
81-3
90-0 92-0
100-3
110-2 (wow, forget that)
122-4
133-4
143-0 (in response to your "..." 999, only 141-0 was a real nuisance for me, but I don't plan on revisiting this column real soon, nonetheless)
151-2
161-2
171-1 (this column doesn't seem too bad, but this level is tricky to beat on the first try, and 170-3 together with 170-4 can be bothersome)
182-0 (drone levels always get me)
192-1 (spent some time on this, and I don't see myself getting so lucky on 192-0 the next time round, so I'm just done with this for now)

23-3
30-0 (lol?)
44-4
51-3
64-2
72-4

190-4

Must we to progress further than first episode on columns? (Like 191)

Edit: I checked out other players' posts and i see it's not a must. Problem solved.

Also:
180-3; 170-3; 190-4; 160-3;

EDIT: No sense in making a new post ... 72-3.

Yeah, sorry about that, but 8-3 is a real pain for me. I'll work on extending that record for you though.

33-2. My cursor was hiding a mine. No way I could possibly have seen that. What a way to go.

I'm meant to be the best in the world at Ep33 and I can't one-life it... fail.
