Hello, I'm back. I won't be active much, but I had a fun idea for a contest, so I thought I'd run that. This is that- enjoy!

Note for the Non-British: I am reliably informed that you don't really have pubs, and much less pub quizzes, so to explain briefly- a "pub" is what you'd call a bar, and a pub quiz is an English thing in which a team of people will take part in a quiz, usually with different rounds based on different types of knowledge, usually with a silly team name, and usually with a pint. It's good fun.

So the idea behind this concept is very similar to that- you should form a team of four people, decide upon a team name and a team leader, and sign up for various rounds based on various facets of N. There'll be mapping, there'll be highscoring, there'll be all sorts of stuff. At the end of each round you will have scored a certain number of points, and the team with the most points at the end of the final round will win. And it'll be much more fun if you play with a pint.


Since each round will have different rules, I'll post them as they come. For now, you should use this thread to form teams and sign up, with the team leader declaring the team name and the team's members. We will begin when four teams have signed up, though if there's a wanting for more then I can factor those in.

You guys have to work out whose team you'd like to join- pro tip: try to balance your skills with other teammates. For instance, if you're a good highscorer, team up with a mapper. You'll need both skills for this.

So the pub quiz is like a quiz that happens in a pub??? I'm not sure I understand, even with your explanation. Sorry, American here, hehe!!!

Ooh! Sounds fun! Also, I love to sink the occasional pint or 4 so this competition sounds ideal to me. Just one question: what does team leader entail exactly?

any sample quiz? how will the game run? any examples? what should I do after signing up? Who wants to team with me?

Leader will be the one who submits final maps in mapping rounds, and will have final say over any decisions that need to be made in the competition. s/he's really only there for the sake of organisation.

At the moment, I think there'll be four rounds- two mapping, two highscoring. Each round will have its own twist which will involve your team working together. Examples? Like the Administrong round last year where a team of six put together a map, but more like a real collab rather than being confined to the corners.

I think I'm going to just skip all the decision-making stuff and take this spot.

We will probably be the only full team. We have already won the game by being the only rank 0th.

:D Well, out of the three of you, you were the last to submit a map to numa (about a year ago). So a lot of the weight will fall on me I guess :P YAY!

I agree with Unreality. You can't really lose with any map as long as you are the only team :D
