Hi everyone,

This is danielr. I am aware that somebody wanted me to join the forums... so here I am.
I've never been on them before, so I'm not totally sure how they work, but I'll give it a go anyhow.
Now what?

Hey danielr! Nice to see you found our community.

We were impressed, because you are so good at N, you take a lot of 0ths showing a great deal of skill and a big knowledge about how N works. And thats very weird coming from a new, anonymous player who isn't on the community. Usually, a player who develops such experience and skill on N, always finds time to join the forums, the community, etc.

Ok, I'll tell a bit about how these forums works: First of all, everything related to N is located on this section:
http://forum.droni.es/viewforum.php?f=4
Furthermore, everything related to playing/highscoring/speedrunning/doing contests, innoving, competing, etc, is located on the section called "Constest and Tournaments" which actually was called, and should be called, "Highscores and Contests", because seriously, highscoring is the main activity in this section. So this is the section you will find more things to talk about ;)

Now, in this section, there are a few very iomportant topics that you should now, they are pinned:
- Splendid dung beetles! Click here for pictures!: This thread was called "Metanet highscore 0th's", but the name changes so much because the highscoring community is a small community with so much sense of humor, we all know each other. So yeah, here's where you post the 0ths you take on Metanet highscoring (levels 0-500, the original ones).

- The Highscore Rankings: Here's where rankings are posted, the leaderboards, etc, and the 0th changes since that last rankings were posted. They used to be weekly, but the activity is now lower, and they're done like monthly or so. This leaderboards are special, they aren't on n.infunity.com, because are only about original levels (0-500).

- Post a Run!: Here's were people post runs they're proud of.

- The N Holy Church of Innovation: The current routes for all levels, specially metanet ones, are really consolidated and optimal, so when a faster way to fdo something (called 'innovation') is found, people usually post them here.

- What's your death count?: Weird thread where to post your death count :P

- Tool-Assisted Highscores/Speedruns: Pretyt cool thread, in which Tool assited demos and run are posted by people, either in FBF, and most times, MBD. MBD means Manually Built Demo, which is a technique a few do to create almost perfect demos. This can help show the possibilities of the maps, and povide new routes/innov for highscorers to try and do them realtime.

- Thread missing (which should exist): Total Level Score Thread: In this thread, people used to compete for the total elvel score, which is the result of adding all of your 500 orginal metanet level scores.

The rest of topics are usually made for competitions, contests, tournaments, of cool achievements. Feel free to hang around here, compete, and post here ;)

Hi EddyMataGallos,

Thanks a lot! And thanks for all the info - I'll check out as much stuff as I can.
By the way, I was reading through previous posts, and I noticed that a few of them questioned the legitimacy of some of my speedruns.
I'd just like to say, here and now, that all of my speedruns ARE legit, it's just that recently (being the holidays, an' all) I've been able to do a lot more than usual.
Thanks again :)

Yeah, they were questioned because it was impressive that such a new player like you, without any conection with the community, did such impressive amount of clean precise 0ths. But now that you have contacted with us, there will be no doubt they are legit :D. (Some people also thought that you might be an experienced player using a second account, hehe).

Have fun here, you can also take a shot at highscoring as well as speedrunnning, if you want :D

I'm gonna be honest. After seeing the unusual name of the thread, I was expecting a spambot. Glad to see that this new member is actually sentient. Welcome!

Thanks, Pheidippides.
By the way, Eddy, I see you've done a bit of work on the 80s column.
Might I suggest an improvement on 86-0? Have a look at my method for the first part of the level, but instead of doing a triple jump and bouncing off the creamy block, you can do an "uber" triple jump, and go all the way up to the 'key' that opens the door. Using this method, you can shave off about a second...

what flag said

Seriously though, you ought to learn the actual names for all the objects. Look in the in-game help section for full details. I heard you describe gold as "coins" on #n-highscores the other day, for instance.

Also, this doesn't really belong in discussion. Move to here or here?

Hehe thanks danielr, although that method you say involves a pretty hard triple.
And yeah, I'd move this to the highscores forum. (The forum should be renamed to "Highscores and Contests").
