I just upgraded my GPU to a GeForce GTX 560, and now N has started to lag. My OS is Windows 7. Does anybody know a way to stop the lag?

I don't see how upgrading your GPU would create lag but, with the update a program dedicated to graphics may have been created & could be using more RAM then the previous one
I would suggest opening 'Resource Monitor' & closing anything you're not using, basically anything you know won't effect your computer to lower RAM or CPU, 'explorer.exe', 'dwm.exe' & 'winlogon.exe' are some of the main things you should never cancel, but things like audio programs if you're not using sound & search helpers should all be okay to cancel, also, web browsers can use a lot of RAM

I closed Steam, Origin and Chrome, and it reduced the lag to a playable amount. Thanks.

N and Windows 7 do not play together very nice as is ... disable hardware acceleration if you haven't done so already and see if that helps (or enable it). Also remove sound, disable themes, and essentially tune everything down on windows.MiBeM wrote:I closed Steam, Origin and Chrome, and it reduced the lag to a playable amount. Thanks.

Apparently my GPU doesn't allow me to disable hardware acceleration. N still lags a bit, so if you have any other possible solutions, I'd like to hear them.

But don't end that process ... instead turn off UPnP and put the service to manual if you don't use it.Paradox-Dragon wrote:Mute everything, Also, check your resource moniter for a wmpnetwk.exe, that thing is evil

Went back to my laptop running Windows 7 after a faulty HDD replacement. Changed the usual suspects, but for some reason this time around it was the 256 colours trick that made N flow like Eminem again.

Thanks Ska, I tried 256 colors and the lag was gone! It was actually enough to stop the lag just to switch from true color to high color. Awesome, I think I'll start playing N again :)
