I'm looking for some good post-metal, and I know some of you guys are fans of the genre, so I would appreciate it if you could recommend some good artists.
Also, if you know some good electronica artists, I'd like to hear about them too.
Thanks!! ^_^

Background Electronica. OK, maybe I'm not a "good" electronica artist, but I've been given many complements on the pieces (and would appreciate more, or criticism is good too :P).Mr__X wrote:Also, if you know some good electronica artists, I'd like to hear about them too.
Can't help with post-metal because I've probably never heard, let alone listen to casually, anything in that genre. However, if someone can post a few links, I'd be happy to listen to it and suggest anything similar if I know of it.
<&Yanni> I've had an ambient song like this playing for a couple hours,

Electronica (also bridging on Ambient stuff, which I feel is similar enough): Autechre, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, DJ Shadow - Endtroducing, Eluvium, No-Man, Prefuse 73, Squarepusher, Stars of the Lid, Venetian Snares.
Post-Metal: Battle of Mice, Isis, maudlin of the Well, Neurosis, Pelican, Red Sparowes, Russian Circles, Slint - Spiderland, Sunn O))) (doom metal, really, but close),

I have to second these two. They're good, though far more ambient that electronica.KinGAleX wrote:Electronica (also bridging on Ambient stuff, which I feel is similar enough)... Eluvium... Stars of the Lid...
I wish I could comment on the post-rock , but I can't. So when I get back from my holidays in a week I'll go and look up some of those artists to see if I can get a better idea of what they do.

Haha, if only our album was finished... :)))
Second all that KA gave, plus check out Alcest's "Souvenirs D'Un Autre Monde" for some black metal/shoegaze crossover. Although post-metal really is a loose definition, it could mean anything.

Doesn't replace actual recommendations but those lists contain some decent names.
