I'd also like to point out that Ratatat is an awesome band to listen to.

I was forced to add Klaxons - Myths Of The Near Future to my list. Like atob, my memory has waned in my old age.

Ah, list of stuff time.

- Phillip Glass (classical)
- Michael Riesman (classical)
(Riesman is actually part of Glass's group. Both are very contemporary with a bizarre style. Glass and Riesman composed the soundtrack for the Qatsi trilogy)
- The Killers (mod-rock) (I finally put Sam's Town on my computer. another good album, although perhaps a step down from Hot Fuss)
- Linkin Park before Reanimation (mod-rock) (their music post-reanimation is crap)
- The Fray (mod/alt rock)
- Menomena (exp. rock)
- Modest Mouse (exp. rock)
- Cloud Cult (exp. rock)
- Vitalic (electro)
- ATB (trance)
- Royksopp (alt)
- Breakbeat Heartbeat (exp. / chip) (I think someone already mentioned him. he's fantastic)
- Godspeed You Black Emperor (dystopian exp.)
- Faded Paper Figures (alt. rock)
- Heartless Bastards (mod. rock)
- The Rasmus (mod. rock)
- Scala & Kolacny Bros. (choir)

I tend to like a very broad range of genres, but I can't stand country or Luka Bloom*. I'm not really in to classic rock, but I do like some.

* I hate Luka Bloom more than any other individual on this earth.

well right now I'm listening to Aphex Twin's album Drukqs, and specifically the song "afx237 v7".
I don't listen to music much, but when I do it's usually James Brown, Snoop Dogg, or k-os. My dad'd got a breifcase filled with rock cassettes, from AC/DC to ZZ Top to Black Sabbath to Pink Floyd I got get arounf to listening to it.

You missed most of the eighties, all of the nineties and everything non-mainstream ever.
It's no loss.

Manus Australis wrote: I fall easily for experimental artists like Our Brother the Native and Animal Collective. Most of my music tastes involve some form of uniqueness that I don't hear in classic rock songs or just rock songs in general.
You might like some of Radiohead's stuff, like Kid A (Album, not just song) and OK Computer. Maybe some of In Rainbows, too.

Anyway, I've recently been listining to the Arctic Monkeys, a British alternative band. Go look up Brianstorm or Balaclava by them on Youtube. Good stuff.

i listen to all music genres except popular music. my favourite bands of all time are iLiKETRAiNS, Nyktalgia, Dragonforce, and Thy Majestie. i'm currently into black/dark metal. Trance, Power Metal, Jazz, Black Metal, and Alternative Rock are mostly my favourite genres. i grade bands entirely on creativity. i'm fine with either very uplifting things or very depressing things, so long as the music is sincere. this is why i despise popular acts.
