Hey, people. I just wanted to make a thread about album covers and it's mainly about deciding the best of them ever made.

This thread is like The Best Of 00's thread, but the difference is that the goal here is to decide;
  • Best Album Covers Of All time
  • Best Album Covers Of The Last Decade (2000-2009)
  • Best Album Covers Of 2009
Apart from that, you could post your personal favorites list as in the other thread, the quality of your choices doesn't matter. Maybe we could make a "Top 100" list as a community. Yeah, go on and make your list.

This is neat. I am reserving this space for a list at a later date.

I know it is kind of weird that I like this cover, but anyway, I like this cover. It's not really great though, not a cover to show up in the Top 100 but it's still one of my favorites.

My favorite band is Shining these days, they execute doom and other black metal elements very good in their songs.

Sgt. Peppers is probably still my all-time favorite.
But Ten, Pearl Jam's first album, has always appealed to me because the cover folds out to become more awesome. Cover and unfolded below.

That's the pic where the drummer suicided, right? Anyway, great cover.

Yeah, that's an actual photo. We've commented on this image before, but I'll let you off with a warning. None of that here, please.

This is from 2009; I'll look through my albums later to find more. I think this one's creative.

Image

As for best album cover of the decade, I'd have to go with Hours by Funeral For A Friend. It doesn't look like much on its own, but the album leaflet had a different image of the girl on each page dressed as a school girl from different decades. In the 2000 image (the front cover) she's wearing a bullet-proof vest... At the time there were quite a few people in England who were making their kids wear such things to school after a chain of stabbings.

Ganteka, you lack both the social graces and the musical pedigree to get away with that sort of comment. I would encourage you not to be a dickhead.

...not to mention this is a topic about album covers not artists. I'm not a big The Fray fan myself.

This is the image from a different angle; I think it's pretty creative as I said before:
