Neon Bible, imo, is a much more mature approach, with both consistent thematic lyrics and atmosphere.

Except that Black Mirror sucks. So I gave it to Funeral.

What didn't you like about Black Mirror? I thought atmosphere and lyrics (I'm repeating myself, but) were fantastic.

Neon Bible is fantastically underrated, but I still think I like Funeral better. But only just barely.

Funeral.

'Neighborhood #2 (Laïka)' just leaps ahead with the win.

Wow, hard decision. I went for Neon Bible because I like it more as an album.
Sure, I like Neighbourhood #3 and Wake Up more than any song on Neon Bible, but, well I dunno really. They're both amazing albums

I've asked myself this question before and I haven't been able to come up with an answer. Neon Bible is more consistent and I really dig the mood of it, but Funeral has both more of an impact as an album and it has my two favourite Arcade Fire songs (Rebellion (Lies) and Power Out).

Funeral.

Funeral, although recently I've started to like Neon Bible more.

Pretty much this, except switch Rebellion (Lies) and Power Out with Wake Up and Tunnels. I went for Neon Bible, though.

(BTW, I am totally looking forward to the new album, which is due out in May according to Wikipedia.)

Then you don't agree with him at all. :?

I see them as equally great albums in my eyes. Each has their fair share of hits.

(Tunnels, In the Backseat, Power Out, Rebellion (lies) :: Funeral)

(Neon Bible, Intervention, Antichrist Television Blues, No Cars Go :: Neon Bible)

If I really had to choose, though, I'd say Neon Bible. Really close though. Too close.

I agree with everything he said until the brackets, which is most of it.

Oh, I thought he voted for Funeral, and you were saying, I agree with him, except for his album choice and songs.

I can see how my sentence could be read like that, but I actually voted for Neon Bible because it was behind in the poll.

I agree with you, except I voted for Funeral because it was ahead in the poll.

The only part I don't like about Neon Bible is the double-climactic ending with No Cars Go and My Body is a Cage. One of them has to go, or at least be moved.

Crikey. Is it just me who thinks Funeral is way way way ahead? Like, there is nothing wrong with Neon Bible, just, Funeral works better as a whole album, and occupies a space in my head which is far more personal and fragile.

That's my thought, except reversed. I think Funeral has a lot of great songs, but doesn't have the same togetherness Neon Bible has.

I'm of the opinion that people who choose Neon Bible are trying to be different.

Plus, Neon Bible is creepy.
