The Metanet Webcomic Conservatory

Why don't we try to make an archive of all comics that the Metanet community has produced? I believe that this is an excellent idea, considering the instability of certain image hosting websites. The comics could all be nice and organized, so when you want to read an older comic, you don't have to scroll through a bunch of posts to find it.

WHAT WE NEED:
--Comic Banner--
--Comic Title-
--Comic Author--
--A sentence or two that will summarize the comic.--
--Comics--(This should be in spoiler form)
*spoiler opens*
---Dates of the update(when the comic is first created and when the new ones are added---
etc.
Anyhow, I believe that this project would most definitely help the Metanet webcomic community.

EDIT 1: Added Template for Webcomic Submission

I could host it, though it'd be better hosted on therealn. Other than that, I think it's a great idea.

I will code it myself, I just need server space and the comics themselves.

Totally great idea. Not just authors can give the links and make the banners because we should gather the comics at the old forums too. Also a few of this guys makes banners or sigs, etc. Artists will need people like pawz, incluye and techno, gtm, etc. Anyway, there should be a seperate banner making topic for that, or we could just use this topic.

Just an idea though.

I'm all for this idea. The comic creators should also be able to upload new comics to the site.

I oppose this idea strongly, but would allow you to upload my myriad of comics.

This.

Wouldn't it completely defeat the purpose of this section of the forums if people had to go to TheRealN's comic section to view them?

Also, its like you're taking TheRealN webspace like it's some form of public storage when in fact it's owned by a couple of dudes that host this forum. You can't just take the cake like that. :3

I think you got the point wrong. It will be like a archive, you can browse through comics, not posts and comments about it.
If not, we could archive the old forums' web comics.

This. It will mostly just be a Huge archive of dead comics that aren't pinned.

Since most of that comics' authors' are dead or left the community, I think we could gather them around.

People should volunteer to gather them, and you should update the first post as they posted like the following;
--Comic Banner--
--Comic Title-
--Comic Author--
--A sentence or two that will summarize the comic.--
--Comics--(This should be in spoiler form)
*spoiler opens*
---Dates of the update(when the comic is first created and when the new ones are added---
etc.
I can start with 87654321's comic tomorrow, to give a example. If he approves. Also this should have another topic on Images forum, to people sign up as a comic-banner maker.
350/400x500 or 350/300x450/400 will do.

If you approve this idea, and some bunch of people more, this could happen.

Looks like a great idea, and I'd be happy to support it, although I can't do much in terms of digging around comics and stuff because I quite frankly don't have the time.

Still, I'd be happy to proof-read the archive, and do simple stuff like that.
