When I have a folder with images or music in it, the normal folder doesn't come up, but instead this weird folder with a bar on the left. Any ideas on how to fix it?

hm. I don't think I've seen that before. Try right-clicking one, going to the Customize tab, and hitting Restore Defaults.

Here's something to try.

Launch an elevated CMD window, ie Right click cmd.exe (in C:\WINDOWS\System32\), Run as Administrator...
Shutdown Explorer Process from the Task Manager
In the CMD window go to C:\Users\<ProfileName>\AppData\Local
Do the following command: "CD %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local"
Do the following command: attrib -H IconCache.db
Do the following command: del IconCache.db
Do the following command: start explorer

This will force the icon cache to be completely recreated.
