Thought this might be interesting to some of you guys.
Now, I hope I wasn't too misleading. There is no FF or Opera for touch/iphone yet, but Apple has loosened it's restrictions on browser type apps in the app store.

Opera is already out for Android. At this point, it's entirely up to Apple to decide to stop being fascist douchebags.

Versions of Opera are already out for many phones; Apple just hasn't green-lighted it yet, the same way they don't green-light anything that would be remotely cross-platform.

Apple might be elitist, but you don't have to be a complete asshole about it. (same to scythe in a less abrasive manner)Tsukatu wrote:At this point, it's entirely up to Apple to decide to stop being fascist douchebags.
In any case, I don't see why you would use Firefox or Opera for the iPhone. Safari provides all the basic functions, and all it really has is a search bar, a back button, and the navigation bar. What would make FF stand out?

Elitist? More like anti-competitive. Although I was under the impression that neither Opera or Firefox had actually been submitted to the app store so they couldn't have been blocked by Apple. Alternative browsers could stand out with basic (but really wanted) features like copy-n'-paste, flash and java support and much more!incluye wrote:In any case, I don't see why you would use Firefox or Opera for the iPhone.
