CAD Software Help!

I've been looking for some CAD software because my aerospace teacher said that it might be a good idea to work with these programs when you get into the industry.
I'm stuck between the following choices:
*Solidworks*
Link
or
*Pro/E*
Link
I have no experience with either so I was wondering if anyone here has had experiences with either.

I understand Pro/ENGINEER is the more professional variation, but I am hugely, hugely against ProDesktop. I have not used Pro/E but in that sort of situation my instinct would drive me away from it.

Never used either. I use 3DS max mostly.
One thing I can add though, In my deep and lengthy searching for work at the moment, experience with Solidworks seems to be far more prevalent than pro/e.

I'm taking CAD this semester, and our class uses Pro/E. I find no problems with it, although we do some pretty basic stuff. Still, the learning curves for using the different features are pretty short in general. I don't know about the first program, but Pro/E is pretty solid.

Hmm. I'm still torn here. I think the learning curve will probably be the final choice. I'm slightly leaning towards Solidworks. But zomg, Pro/E comes with a tablet. D:

I've never used either (I use Autodesk), but I'm told that SolidWorks is pretty easy to learn, so a good choice for people just getting in to CAD/CAM.

I decided I would've gone with Solidworks, but my friend had a CD for AutoCAD 2007. A little hard to learn, but I'll get better at it.
