Microsoft Is Losing Fight for Consumers.
What do you guys think?
I agree with him though. Change my mind. Discuss. Note: Sorry if this is the wrong forum for creating this topic, I'm not sure about if this should be in (Politics &) Debate forum.

What is with the backseat modding all of a sudden? "Delete this", "lock this." Jesus Christ.

Tsukatu, since I have become admin, we have agreed on two things. I believe that means we are soulmates, or perhaps amicable colleagues.Tsukatu wrote:What is with the backseat modding all of a sudden? "Delete this", "lock this." Jesus Christ.

No, not even close. Their hardware is top notch. Windows 7 is great and is looking to finally dethrone XP. I think this is the second coming more than anything, especially with the new Stores open in the US.

I think he's actually doing a good job now. Windows 7 is very good indeed, and I'm looking forward to Windows Mobile 7. The Zune is one great product, and so is the Xbox. The only thing I have with all this, is that all these products don't interact as well as they should with themselves.smartalco wrote:(Although I do think they could gain by losing Balmer)
But yeah, I think Microsoft's doing a great job now, except for IE D:

Zune HD doesn't get the respect it deserves.

The Zune is -the- mp3 player to have right now, if you don't mind converting your library over to the excellent Zune Software. (which even has workarounds for last.fm, so it is the way to go.) Sadly, the XBOX 360 is, in my opinion, on the downswing.

I'm actually very surprised at the ratio of Xboxes to PS3s that I've seen here in America. It's a very different story in the Middle East.SlappyMcGee wrote:The Zune is -the- mp3 player to have right now, if you don't mind converting your library over to the excellent Zune Software. You must be using different Zune software than I have messed with. What I have used is a ridiculously overbloated pile of crap. You shouldn't need 2gb of RAM just to be able to put music on your player without dragging your computer to a halt.SlappyMcGee wrote:the excellent Zune Software.

Ahh. I have a great computer, so what you find overbloated I find "Pretty and laden with features".smartalco wrote:You must be using different Zune software than I have messed with. Not really. MS has just removed that feature and will be selling the slightly modified version now. The average consumer literally won't know the difference.

When I had Windows on it, I used Zune on my netbook. And it worked fairly well. That meaning it was very rare for it to drag my computer to a halt.smartalco wrote:You must be using different Zune software than I have messed with. And if you're wondering, my netbook is a Asus EeePC 4GB, with 512MB of RAM.

I used to have an issue with the Zune software where when it was downloading podcasts from the internet it would grind my whole machine to a halt. it's been fixed in recent versions, though, so it might be worth checking it out again if you haven't in a while.
