scythe needs a phone

I'm not really looking for a smartphone. I use a phone to make calls, text people, listen to music, and take pictures. What I'm after is: vertical slider, good camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack, sync works like a USB drive, and At&t (sucks, I know) or unlocked GSM. Ideally, sub-$150 price range, cheaper the better.
When I say "vertical slider", I mean not one of the sideways sliders with a QWERTY keyboard, but one that slides lengthwise. A touchscreen is fine too, but I don't want a candybar because I'd pocket dial everyone.
When I say "sync works like a USB drive", I mean "I can put files on it and take files off it without using sync software". My current phone uses Windows Mobile, so I have to interact with it through Windows. Fuck everything about that. I use Linux and I'd like to be able to use my phone on Linux.
Currently, I'm looking at the
Nokia X3. I might prefer something with a better camera, or something less hideous.

Slides lengthwise is, looking at the face of the phone, ----> right?

No, down. So like a RIZR, not like a Droid.

I had/have a Sony Ericsson W880i, and it meets all your requirements. It syncs like a pendrive, plays music (it actually brings some pretty decent headphones), it's very slim and nice-looking (imo) and it's pretty speedy. The camera is a 2.0 MP camera, but I found it pretty good. Not sure how good you want the camera to be.
Not sure if you're okay with a device this old, but oh well.

And also the keyboard does not slide out the right way...

Crazy as it sounds, that's a dealbreaker for me. I've had a sideways-sliding QWERTY keyboard for a while and I hate the damn thing.

Hmm, that's my favorite keyboard layout for a phone. Vertical QWERTY's seem too bunched together to me.

Windows phones are built to last. I still have my 2006 Motorola Q running Windows Mobile 5... survived over 1,000 days for a cell phone. Not bad.

The new Blackberry has that type of keyboard and is quite good, scythe, although probably out of your price range.

That would be cool!
A vertical slider is the primary goal. The QWERTY keyboard is a secondary bonus; I like to text, but I'm patient enough to type it out on a 0-9 keyboard, I think.
Maybe an older blackberry? The other thing is that I want something small, and small will probably take precedence over QWERTY in the end.

PROTIP: With a Google Voice account and access to a computer, your texting speed is limited only by your typing speed.
