New laptop, blahblahblah. I've backed up my entire iTunes library onto an external HD, and I now want to put it on the new one. Is there any easy way to do this that will allow you to retain all your album artwork/ratings/checked unchecked information?

I've tried copying the entire iTunes folder into the one made on my new laptop, but all the shortcuts that appear in iTunes are broken. When I try dragging all the songs into the window, the information is broken.

Seriously man, google it.

You know, usually I'm the one telling people to Google things, but in this one moment of ignorance, I completely forgot about Google.

I have a hard time believing you are ever in the wise majority.

I am when I'm hanging around morons. Which I usually do, aside from this community.

Also, all the google results look a bit suspicious. I was really hoping there'd be someone here who'd done it before that knows the best and easiest option, but whatever.

Then add a site you trust to the search. Basic stuff, man.

Had no idea you could limit searches to a specific site with Google like that. Thanks Tanner!

I seriously hope that both oeuvre and Slappy said that under huge invisible sarcasm quotes. Otherwise, I'll draw the same conclusion as maestro. o_O
