Welcome one and all to the Community Construction Challenge, once a week I will submit a new construction challenge to the community. Once the week is over the submissions will be rated in ingenuity, aesthetics, functionality and community popularity (Poll). You are allowed to use any construction material which is not listed as banned for that week but you must make the challenge yourself without following instructions. You may post your submission (With pictures and/or video) in to the topic or PM it to me if you want to keep it private till the challenge is over. Initially the competition will run for 10 rounds and whomever has the highest score at the end will receive a prize, 2nd and 3rd place will get sigbars (Yes this means the first place prize is actually going to cost money.).

Challenges:

Week 1
Project: Rubber band gun
Description: Some form of contraption which can fire rubber bands. Functionality will be scored on ease of use, accuracy at 20 inches, number of shots fired before a reload is needed and reload mechanism (If any). There are no aesthetic requirements.
Restricted materials: None
Round time: 2 weeks from May 30th

Haha. I can remember when we used to have Rubber-band guns made from a small pipe and the finger from a rubber glove, with BBs as Bullets. Good times. :)

Ok I get the point from the PMs and post here, I'll elaborate and what the challenge is more.

EDIT: Updated first post and restarted the round so it will go from today.

This sounds great, does it need to fire rubber bands, or can it use rubber bands to fire some other type of projectile?
If I buy a rubber band gun, does it count? And if it dosen't, can I buy one and modify it?

In the main description it says fire rubber bands, so it should fire rubber bands.

Ah, I wasn't talking about that. I asked what's going on with the competition, last post was 25 days ago, and the deadline was eight days ago.
