So I was sitting in my room, and I had a pretty ace idea. And we're doing it.
I'll cut to the chase.
  • We get a list of people willing to participate.
  • Each person in the list PMs their mailing address to the person before them.
  • At some point, you will receive a letter in the mail.
  • Upon receiving this, you write your username, and sign next to it.
  • You then mail it to the next person.
What will this result in? A list of usernames and signatures.
Kinda lame.

This is where it gets cool. On top of this, you should also send something from your local area. A photo of your city, for example, or a small denomination of money, usable only as a memento (5 cents, or something).
This is for the next person to keep. Permanently. Through this we'll all receive something pretty cool from somewhere that we may have never been, and I think the whole collection of signatures...yeah, I lied. That's pretty damn cool too.

Once it's done, I'll photocopy and mail a copy to anyone who wants it, as well as scanning it and uploading it on the forum.

Sweet as.

I totally just read that as, "I'd hate to be the only black guy stuck using v1.4."

Didn't someone try to do this before with a notebook?

Yes. Atramentis threw away the notebook and sent newspaper clippings of his death instead.

We tried this once with the intention of sending it to Mare and Raigan's offices when the whole thing was finished. Just an idea of what to do with the original after its made its way around the world.

Too bad most people (myself included) are a tad angsty about putting their addresses open to the internet.

Not open to the internet, just to one other person.

Knowing me, I'd forget to actually send this once I got it, so I'd say I'm out for now... but it's an awesome idea.

I share Blackson's sentiment. Internet with mailing address? Hmmm. I think it's a cool idea, though.

But really, how are you going to ship this across the Indian, Atlantic, and possibly the Pacific? I'm pretty sure that it's going to be obscenely expensive.

A couple of dollars per person. Hardly a big deal.

I have a better idea, sort by country then decide who gives who their address. It'll be pretty ludicrous sending it say from the US to germany to canada to bahrain to the uk to the us etc. Much better to send it around the country first.
