Welcome one, welcome all to:
The Metanet Whist Championship
Since I've recently developed a certain passion for Whist (en.wikipedia.org/Whist), since some other communitydudes have caught the contagion, and since we're sick of playing informally and want to inject some manjuice and competition into our games, I (KinGAleX) am starting a Metanet Whist Championship.
Rounds will be each Sunday evening at or up to a couple of hours before 21:00 (US EDT), or 18:00 (US PDT) (beginning the 27th of March). If you can't derive what time that is in your locale, you probably won't do very well at the championship.
The client we will be using may be found at http://www.whistportal.com/download.html , and your username must be registered in the client.
Post in this here thread if you wish to participate, with your username, and your partner's username (if you have a partner lined up).
We will require at least four teams to show up for the tournament to work, so if you say you're in, please do show up at the appropriate hour.

Tournament Rules (click to expand)
Week One Results* The first stage of the tournament will be a round robin format. This will extend week upon week at the same time until sufficient scores have been collated to begin a knockout stage. More information later.
* Matches between teams will be played to the first to two games (known as a rubber).
* Matches will be of the form Classic Whist, with a thirty second shot clock.
* Talking about the quality of your hand, in any way, unless you are completely sure it is the winning hand of the game, will result in the forfeiture of the game for your team.
* Statistics will be collated, so keep track of them.
